Here is the "Fury of Firestorm VFX Featurette"

http://comicbook.com/2015/10/23/the-flash-new-look-at-zoom-in-the-fury-of-firestorm-vfx-featuret/

In it, we see a very primitive CGI rendering of Zoom. Look at his face, it's very skeletal.

This only adds confirmation, for me at least, that Zoom is in fact the Black Flash but given the name Zoom instead.

In the new 52, Barry actually becomes the Black Flash (very reluctantly, though). I don't know any more details than that since I don't follow the Flash comics.

So, those of you who think Earth-2 Barry Allen could be Zoom, you very well could be right.

But, I'll stick to my original theory that Zoom has no identity, that he is more of a force of nature. He is the "Black Flash" of the the Flash TV Universe. He wants every Speedster dead, possibly even to absorb their speed into himself too.

But, because of the comics, Earth-2 Barry Allen is #2 on my list on who Zoom could be.

Thoughts?

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

An Earth-2 Barry Allen might be a possibility, but then if this was the case would there not be an Earth-1 Jay Garrick?
One of the realities of the two earths in Comics is that characters are not necessarily duplicated between worlds, and that's a very sensible thing to show. I don't think Zoom is a Barry Allen, despite having what appears to be the same costume, and while it may be that Harrison Wells-2 is a red herring meant to have us make an assumption it is he I can't believe they would introduce him without him being a very strong importance to the plot. Wells-2 built STAR Labs, it makes some sense that if he isn't Zoom himself then he is at least directing him...

I wonder if DC would let them do the New Gods on TV. You would figure anything remotely resembling Darkseid would be saved for a movie's budget.

(now I'm just picturing Diggle trying to kill the Forever People for being so perky)

They did that though on smallsville, and think that if and when they decide to have the ole big Crossover event, Darkseid trying to kill off all 52 earths would be a decent plot!
