It needs to be said. It is odd that Ronnie is being replaced so soon as Firestorm when he barely started. I know it has happened in the comics but at least then it took a lot longer. I understand that the writing staff for Legends of Tomorrow is going for ethnic diversity (based on what I’ve read), but the writers could have just used a different character instead of replacing Firestorm. Then again, maybe Robbie Amell’s schedule interferes with Legends of Tomorrow. Whatever the reason, Jax is a worthy replacement and I look forward to seeing the actors take on Firestorm. I especially look forward to see if Firestorm actually gains the ability to transmute matter into something else like he can in the comics.

KING SHARK! Those teeth Patty brought to Barry is an obvious nod to the comic character. And after Grodd’s appearance last season that was met with a very positive fan reaction, I would not be surprised if King Shark suddenly appeared in a future episode. If anything, the special effect staff will be up to the task when it comes to bringing him to life.

And then of COURSE King Shark shows up at the end of the episode after I write that paragraph! As expected, he looks simply awesome! And scary. Definately something I never want to meet in a dark alley. And taken out far too easily. Let's hope Flash and King Shark have an extended fight in a later episode.

After what Iris’s mom did to her, I admire her for facing a person that walked out on her life. Especially considering that Iris was told the truth by her dad. It took guts to see a woman who caused her pain and it is not an easy thing to do. I myself have no idea what that feels like but I do have a friend who does. I was not surprised to see that Iris basically told her mom off before walking away and I fully expect that Francine has a hidden motive behind her visit to Central City other than being fatally ill. I do not think Francine will be seen much after this episode because I think she is just here as a set up to Wally West.

The story was predictable and I should have recognized that sooner. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the overall story as well as the side plots. It was an enjoyable episode to watch as usual even though it was predictable.

I always love seeing Patty Spivott’s character but she does not have much to do and serves very little to the story other than some good scenes with Barry. I hope the writers rectify this problem and soon. Good thing she saw a little action at the end there with King Shark, I hope we see more of that. She is a cop after all.

And finally, we see another Metahuman. I was beginning to wonder if any of them even existed anymore. Seeing yet another character from Earth-2 was already getting tiresome.

Love the reveal in the very end where Earth-2 Dr. Wells reveals to Barry who he is. I can’t wait for the next episode!

A solid 4 out of 5 stars.

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

Robbie Amell's schedule is why he isn't around. He's been cast on the X-Files reboot. His career is starting to take off from what I gather so he's probably got too much on his plate to ever come back as anything more than a guest star.

I think they kept the Firestorm idea for the following reasons:

1. Victor Garber is too good an actor to lose.

2. There already was a precedent in the comics for replacing Ronnie with a black guy. So it's not being unfaithful to the comics.

3. They could have went the Jason Rousch route but they already introduced Jason last season and he was a scientist just like Ronnie. He wouldn't have offered anything new. This Jay Jackson guy is more like comics Ronnie.

(all that said...was I the only who cringed when Dr. Stein told Jax to use his natural athletic ability...sounded unintentionally racist but I know he meant because Jax was a football player not because he was black)

He reminded me of the Street Sharks. He was one of those things that was so lame it circled around and became awesome. And him showing up at the end just seemed so random. I laughed uncontrollably.

I think we'll see her a few more times.

If Joe is Wally's father (an article I read says he is) then Joe should be furious that Francine never gave him a chance to raise his son.

There's something about her that kind of annoys me. To me they're trying too hard to make her this loveable goofball Barry falls for.

She might be perfect for Barry if they stop writing her like she's perfect for Barry. Once we've seen her bad days then I might like her. Right now she's a little TOO perfect.

I would rate this one a three. This was one of the more boring episodes. The random manshark might bump it up a half star.

Awesome, glad I got confirmation. It's good to see Robbie's career taking off. I liked his work in the short lived Tomorrow People. \:\)

And had I did a Young Justice movie, I would have cast him as Superboy.

Don't like him, but yes...he is a good actor.

I know. I have no problems with it. I already like Jax and I look forward to seeing what becomes of him in Legends of Tomorrow. \:\)

Jefferson not Jay. ;\)

And your right. He would offer nothing new because Dr. Stien is the brains and Jax is the power.

I didn't cringe, but I did think it a little strange now that I look back on it. How can one use natural athletic ability while floating? Hm.

I laughed too, it was awesome. And I think it was supposed to be random. It's good that the writers keep us on our toes. ;\)

Probably. Wally West still hasn't entered the picture yet. I think when he shows, ol' mommy dearest will leave.

Yeah, he'll be mad. I can definitely see that.

I think you have a point there. From the articles I have read up on, Patty is actually supposed to be Barry's love interest this season and hence that is why she is being dressed up as being perfect for him.

Patty needs some flaws, she needs some character development to make us care about her. She's shown a little already since she says her dad was killed by a metahuman but other than that, we haven't seen anything else to make us care. Let's hope we see more flaws and have more reasons to care because if we don't, I predict that the fans will only end up hating her.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate it. \:\)

This episode hasd a lot going on, from wife who will be dead now bring news of wally West, a brother to sister, and maybe another Flash in future?

Liked Killer Shark, as he looked really bad and powerful, maybe him and Grodd doing a future team up against the Flash gamg?

now we have another evil firestorm to go woth good one, and hope that new Firestorm will learn how to use his matter transmuting powers!

Barry new lady friend just might be an evil Metahuman to come?

Isis was really cold as ice, she should become new Killer Frost!

Wonder what the other Flash, jay, will be doing now in the lab?

barry looked to be really surprised to see E2 Dr wells, wonder how they will get along, and still see Barry needing him to stop Zoom!

i the bew Dr wells now maybe the smartest man on earth?

And wonder when and if Supergirl gets to crossover to meet Flash/Arrow then?

Yes, the Producers have confirmed Wally West will be a speedster. Unfortunately.

Doubtful. That 30 seconds of King Shark was VERY expensive to make (so I've read online). So, we likely won't see much of King Shark.

I'm hoping for this as well. \:\)

Oh man, I hope not.

Isis was not on this show. Iris was though and no. Killer Frost is Caitlin Snow. \:\)

Eating Barry's pizza and cookies. ;\)

It'll be interesting to find out. ;\)

That's stretching things a little. But who knows.

IF Supergirl is a success, then most likely not until it's second season.

Still wondering about that Crisi Event that was himted at a lot in season 1, as there seems to be now the 52 earths into play, and now maybe Constatine and spectre coming over, so could there still be a Smallsville like earth, such as one kara and kal now on , and could that play out into a TV COIE?

Could darkseid be coming?

Interesting that the promo has Dr wells saying that he created Zoom, so could he be a robot then?

Because of the movies, very doubtful

Highly unlikely. Darksied would squish Flash like a bug. There is simply no realistic way for the Flash to beat Darksied.

Was looking forward though to this being a Crisis event, requiring the Spectre from Constatine to intervene!
