So Barry didn't fix anything, but he did own up his mistakes and vow to learn from them and not repeat them. I guess that's something.

Enough for me to keep watching anyway.

Season 1, Barry learns from Dr. Wells it's not safe to mess with the timeline and Barry learns from that. Then that lesson is thrown out the window in a later episode when Barry time travels again, not caring about the consequences. Then in season 2, Barry keeps messing with the timeline when he should know better by now, not once, but several times. Even the Speedforce tries teaching Barry to move on and learn from his mistakes. He listens, only to unlearn it all two episodes later. Then in season 3, he owns up to what he's done and learns not to mess with the timeline when he should already know better. But we have all seen this "learning" from his mistakes before to some extent or another and he "never" learns from it.

Trust me on this one, Barry hasn't learned a thing. Before too long, I fully expect Barry, to once again, go back in time and mess with the timeline yet again and thus proving he still hasn't learned not to mess with it. Daveym was right, Barry has made very little progress as a character. He's the same guy we met in season 1, the same self defeating doubt, ignoring the consequences of his actions and never, ever, learning from his mistakes. And to put it politely, he's "thick" as Daveym put it.

Meh. It's pretty average for me right now. I'm not even reviewing the episodes anymore because I see this show continuing it's downward spin from last season. If things don't pick up and start becoming great again with some much needed character growth for Barry, I'll be VERY surprised if this show makes it to a season 4.

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

Great points I've been unhappy with Barry's lack of character development too. I'm definitely close to my breaking point with the show too.

The scene that gave me hope in Episode 2 was Jay's talk with Barry about not messing with time travel. It didn't square at all with some of what came before, but okay, that was an impossible task given that the rules change from episode to episode. But with luck they'll never ever do another time travel story.

Awww, who am I kidding. There'll be more.

I think there should be more. Sara Diggle needs to be restored! Barry's a baby killer.

Only occasionally. Having an older, wiser, far more experienced speedster around means that Barry becomes a second-rate character in his own show. I'd much rather see Jay as part of the JSA on a regular basis, with maybe one appearance per season in The Flash.

And they REALLY need to be cutting back on speedsters on his show, and giving us something new.

Nah. You can't kill someone who never existed. And she's still alive and well in the other reality.
