How would you feel if Iris West really did die when it comes time to see the episode?

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

I wouldn't like it. She's grown on me. I didn't like her in season 1. But they fixed the things I didn't like about her (no real job, dating Eddie with his girly voice, Barry always lying to her and Iris always getting upset). Once she gave up being a blogger *eye roll* and made steps to get a real job and be a journalist who actually works in a news room I began to like her more. Once she learned Barry's secret and got over Eddie's death I liked her a lot better. I like her way better as Barry's girlfriend then the friend he obsesses over. I felt kinda the same way in the Silver Age comics. Iris became way more likeable once we found out she knew Barry's secret...she was a bit shrill before that.

I don't want to see Iris die unless they're building up to a Barry/Caitlin romance. If we get that then maybe...as it stands I'm more worried Caitlin or Joe will die.

what if Iris dies?

I'm of two minds on this . . .

On the one hand if she dies Barry will be free to focus totally on his "powers" and improving himself in that regard. It would also set up an interesting situation in that Joe would blame Barry for not saving her, which would create an interesting and tense dynamic within team Flash and in their relationship.

BUT Iris has also grown on me and she appears to be a mainstay in Barry's life and he is motivated to be a better hero with Iris' love. If she dies who will be the "love interest?" Caitlyn, the former cop (will she return- can't think of her name now.) or an as yet revealed character?

I wouldn't be happy about it. Iris started out as an incredibly annoying and irritating character, but has grown into an important part of the dynamic of the show.

I consider the 'death' of Iris in the comics as the beginning of the end of the Silver Age Flash. She had a stabilising influence on the book. Without her, the series seemed to lose focus quickly and floundered around looking for an identity for a few years until it's cancellation. I'd hate to see the same thing happen on the tv show.

Not to great, as she is to him as Lois is to Supes, destined to be together!
