Green Lantern 001 (2019)

Another relaunch means giving Hal's book another chance. If it were Marvel a soft reboot would've been more continuity friendly but it's DC so a new #1 is fine. And the classic title for the series is so much better. It will be critical to see how the transition to this new status quo for the GL mythos is handled - particularly with the things going on in Supergirl currently.

Saw this blurb online comment that seemed spot-on, imo:
> Time for some Totally Normal Down-To-Earth Space Police Procedural Adventures with Hal Jordan!

There was A LOT OF PRAISE for the premiere here:
For me it was a solid story but just okay because it read like any random Heavy Metal or EPIC magazine's sci-fi anthology installment. The only real grabber being the last page reveal where the opening arc is headed with Anti-Matter Hal. Remind me what we should know of him? Anyways, this #1 was just okay for me, maybe better than average, definitely worth checking out the next issue.

Added observations:
·· They went with plain run-of-the-mill poser cover.
·· Inside art was wonderful and alien/scifi appropriate/abstract .
·· Dumb question 1: Guardians of Oa status quo is lost to me so maybe somebody can remind me of that too?
·· Dumb question 2: What happened to Hal's battery?
·· Dumb question 3: Who is this Hal's carnal lover Eve?
·· Floozle Flem is SICK (in the positive slang way \:\) ) The mix of bad guy phlegm and Green Flu to take him down was hilarious. Fun quote too:
·· Alien garbletalk got trying after TEN PAGES of it. Then awhile later they do it some more. Grr. They better include a better translation matrix with Hal's new power battery! *waves fist*
·· Hal letting gravity do his work for him was funny. And his demeanor for the alien criminals deserves old-school props.
·· Blackstars are back?! They were good and now are bad. Hmmm... This could be interesting. Their series had some fine artists that made their alien missions worth checking out, especially when Donna joined in 1994.
·· Stuff to look forward to:

How much praise do you give it all?
