Tonight, I read Thor Annual #8 from 1979. I always liked the Marvel annuals from the Silver and Bronze Ages. They were a treat - long stories complete in one issue. This issue's story is called "Thunder over Troy" and pits Thor against Zeus in the days of the Trojan War. Story is by Thomas and art is by Buscema and DeZuniga - a trio of my favorites. It is interesting that Don and Maggie Thompson, husband and wife team noted for the Comics Buyers Guide, were given credit for providing research to help to explain how and why Thor could participate in the Trojan War. Very interesting annual especially the fight scenes between Zeus and Thor with lots of lightning and thunder. If you are not a big Greek mythology fan, you may need to read this story slowly to keep the characters straight in your mind. All on all, an interesting mix of Greek mythology and time travel. By the way, Mr. Thomas mentions in "The Hammer Strikes" in this issue that there was talk at the time (1979) that a second title for Thor called "The Hammer of Thor" was a possibility.
