A few nights ago, I read Forbidden Worlds #119, May-June 1964.Three entertaining stories - two supernatural, one science fiction. The first story is "The Girl from Bald Mountain" wit art by one of my favorites, Chic Stone. This story is reminiscent of the Bewitched TV series.- beautiful young girl gives up her powers to be with the man of her dreams. Interestingly, this story predates the debut of the TV show by at least 4 months. The couple in the story eventually have a baby girl like on the TV show.Second story is the cover feature, "Dr. Danton's Failure" - a somewhat self-centered archaeologist, who is always successful, saves the world by failing. The last story is my favorite - I am a big science fiction fan. The story is titled " Blueprint for Invasion". A visitor from outer space, intent on gathering information for his planet to conquer the earth, is caught when attempting to steal secret papers at the Pentagon. After telling his wild story to his captors, he is shunted to an asylum. Nobody believes his story until ... you will have to read the story to find out. I always enjoyed ACG stories, The characterization is well done .In this issue, we have a young woman willing to fight to rescue her man, a selfish success who belittles his less successful co-workers, a doctor who cannot see the truth beyond his rationalization. Reminds me of the believable characters portrayed in the Twilight Zone TV show. Make mine ACG!.
