Subj: AD&D Storybook 2: Forest of Enchantment Posted: Thu Oct 29, 2020 at 06:03:42 pm EDT (Viewed 53 times) | ||||
this is the second and unfortunately final book from Marvel's D&D storybook collection. And it is even better than the first. Split between reading and artwork and intended for a young audience, this one also uses characters from the AD&D colouring book, some of whom had action figures in the toyline. It focuses on Carus the elven bard and Filaree the half-elven druid as they try to stop a plot involving lizardmen. The lizardmen are commanded by one of the coolest D&D villains, Warduke, and the evil wizard Kelek from the last book. It also has a cameo by Figgen the halfling. One thing I like about this is you have two very pacifistic characters, a bard and a druid, going against a badarse evil fighter, an evil wizard and a lizard army. The odds are so stacked I really wondered how they could win. But the real draw is the beautiful artwork by Earl Norem. Im really sorry they didnt make more of these because the two they made are excellent.
