Guys WWH2 was plain sold out before I got to my comic shop. Pretty gutted to say the least. I am a massive Thing fan and I know he went down against the Hulk after a relatively good showing but could someone fill me in on the detail?

After Johnny and Storm's combined assault failed to stop the Hulk the Thing leaps from a ledge into battle .

1st Attack :

Ben lands a "Clobberin Time" punch that draws blood from the Hulk's nose and mouth , but the blow merely turn his head .The punch barely had any other effect .


2nd :

The two combatants lock up in battle .

3rd Attack :

Ben lands an impressive left hand punch directly into the Hulk's mug and it too draws blood .

4th Attack :

Ben lands a right hand body shot to the Hulk's gut.

The Hulk brings both of his fists together for a double hammer-blow to Ben's head which drops the Thing to his knees immediately .

Before the Hulk can deliver a strike that might've killed the Thing the fight is interrupted , thus possibly saving the Things' life .

One major hole:

Considering that 1) The Thing can't match the Hulk in a straight boxing match, and 2) The Thing has some wrestling experience, why couldn't the Thing try some UFC wrestling holds on the Hulk that would put Tito Ortiz to shame? [smile]

Ben did real well. Almost anomalously well really considering the way some other guys fared but I think this was a tribute to the old Hulk vs Thing battles when Ben was weaker but not considered the third rate strongman he almost is these days.
Particularly that first blow that drew a LOT of blood from the Hulk though not much reaction seemingly.

Ben goes for the arm drag and takes the Hulks back. Thing sinks in the Rear naked choke. Doesn't matter how strong you are - no blood to the brain you are going out. Upset ala Randy Couture vs Tim Sylvia! Except I think this was more of a Rich Franklin (Thing) vs Anderson Silva (Hulk) match.
