Westfield Comics has alerted me that ANTHEM #5 has been cancelled by the publisher and has credited my account. I just checked the Heroic site and there is a posting in the fan forum from September saying that the printer has printed the comic yet. However, it does appear that people can download an electronic copy of ANTHEM #5. *rhe*

I want to support this book, but this is a tad annoying. But it's the world of the Indy for sure, less than a shoestring. *rhe*

He doesn't seem to have a problem with getting his T&A comics out. Who is financing those, Bob Guccione?

Publication may be delayed but Diamond has canceled all pre-orders. So once Dennis gets the comic published, he's going to have to re-solicit it. I figure that if Dennis gets it published, it will probably be next spring and I, and anyone else that cared about the series, will have forgotten about it. Heck, I don't even remember issue #4 at this point.

Hah! Good point!

I've taken Anthem #4 and filed it away. I try to keep the last newest number of an active comic series I get in my nightstand drawer, until that is I see no prospect that the series will ever return. I'm closing the lid on Anthem for now, and hopefully the future will find it at another publisher or something of that order. *rhe*

Another publisher would be a good way to go. Roy Thomas has told me that his scripts are well ahead of scheduling. I think it's a matter of going to a committed publisher, one that has financing. When Thomas told me that he was going with Heroic, I was kind of ambivilent about the choice since I didn't even know that Heroic was still publishing comic books. And I recall when I worked in a comic shop Heroic (then known as Hero Comics) was constantly late with books, so nothing has changed in 20 years.

First I got online notification from Westfield that orders for ANTHEM #5 were cancelled by the publisher. Today I received written (snail mail) notification from Westfield that ANTHEM #5 was "cancelled by Publisher/Distributor".
