Just read a digital copy of #3 on a lark 'til tomorrow's new books. Wow. What a good book! So many quotable lines and what the art lacked in aesthetic detail it made up for in the image choice for the panels, the choreography and pacing, and believable facial expressions. Actually, when a first page grabs me it definitely puts me in a more positive mood for the ish and the grandiose alien splash with the stimulating concept of "THE CASTLE WITHOUT DOORS" was cool. It caught my fancy and was poetically explained too. This KINGFISHER is a truly evil yet entertaining S.O.B. Warlord. And this hero, DUKE McQUEEN is a genuine hardnose adventurer out to save the day with action to enjoy vicariously. His statue scene was hilarious. Look forward to finding out more about Space-Boy and the lovely roughneck Tilda bent on rescuing the savior.
Will be looking to read backissues 1 & 2, ASAP, 'cuz this was so much fun!
In another NEW title...
Brandi Bare #1-3
Huh. Very interesting. Never thought about going this route! Where was Kickstarter over a decade ago when a dream job in the comic book industry was sadly, forever, at best a fantasy? *sigh*
$14,175 pledged of $3,000 goal the site/issue #3link above reveals! Wow. That's impressive. Wasn't Joe Pekar big into selling his artwork on eBay a decade ago? Pretty decent pinup stuff IIRC.
Hmmm, how has Brandi Bare been storywise?
I miss Dad and Dan.
