Hey,

I just wanted to note that a few weeks back Empire: Uprising came out and I thought it was pretty darn good. This is a sequel series to Waid and Kitson's Empire from a decade back. For those of you who have never heard of it, Empire takes place in an independent universe where Golgoth, a Doctor Doom type villain, wins and now rules the world.

Uprising's issue #1 takes place a few years later and it's like Waid and Kitson haven't missed a beat. I strongly suggest you buy the Empire trade first, then jump into this new series!

Very much agree, Katefan. The first two issues have been great. Lots of intrigue, action, and interesting characters. Was very happy to see this series return after so long! My pull list is considerably smaller these days as I've dumped almost all of the big two. There's great independent work out there far more worth reading!

Yes. I thought it was released last week. Or perhaps the week before. Just read it last night.

Ghaaaaaa! Now I definitely gotta get to my comic book store this week. I read so few titles these days due to The Big Two consistently disappointing me I only pop in about once a month.

I know what you mean. This weeks pull list for me was all indie titles. Six of them. Prior two weeks a grand total of 8, one of which was Secret Wars the only book from the big two. I'm saving some money by dumping almost all Marvel books. They just are nowhere near as good as the independents. The only reason I held out so long was loyalty and love of their characters but Marvel honestly just has not been very good in a very long time. Their cancellation of Fantastic Four was the final straw for me.
