Subj: Oddly Normal #9 - Be Kind.

Far away from the vast majority of mainstream publishers preferred output, and equally farther away from the all-action, all-cynicism, housestyle of modern comics, lies the sunny and upbeat world of Otis Framton's Oddly Normal, the tale of an adolescant witch setting out to discover her heritage and thereby her role in the world she will walk through in the future.
Image Comics has gained many plaudits for their range and diversity of output, and Oddly Normal is a tribute to that ethos as it takes its chances and stays true to the vision of its creator Otis Framton.
In this latest issue lies a very simple tale, told with great economy, of the value and need of being unselfish and thinking of others rather just ones self. As the tale finishes Oddly has found a new companion and doesn't fail to remember the troll she met all alone under his bridge, with no one who cares about him or who he can call a friend... until now...
This is a lovely book, and this scene shows two reasons why - charming illustrations and a big warm heart.
