Hey,

On page 9, Starman refers to Superman as Kal-L not Kal-El. Is this a hint of the future, is Starman simply mixing up his worlds, or is this Superman actually Kal-L or is it something else? Any guesses or info?

Thanks,

The only thing we can be sure of is - it's meaningful. Everything Starman says is meaningful. Even when it seems to be gibberish.

It could be that the Superman they knew was the Earth 2 Superman, even if our Superman also knows people with those names- in that case, the Legion have made a terrible mistake that may doom time.

I hate it when that happens. \:\-\)

I think you are on to something. Whatever has happened to the Legion in the future is probably due, at least partly, to something they did in the past.

They might go "waitaminute , he called himself Kal- EL?" - no wonder they seemed to be more familiar with the JSA members from the old Earth 2 (esp Jay Garrick).

What's more, Dream Girl ,Starman and Karate Kid are stuck in the 21st Century with no idea as to what they are doing- kudos to Dr Mid-Nite for putting them in their place!

Who says that Dream Girl is stuck in the 21st century?

I think he's referring to Countdown #45, but that actually takes place before JLA #10 (which really is confusing since Countdown is supposed to be in-sync with other books as is comes out).

Although, it is possible that Dream Girl is the mystery character that stays behind with Karate Kid and the end of JLA #10.

Oh ,so I got it wrong! But one of the female Legionnaires does stay behind with Karate Kid, and the portal was closing on the one with two hearts.

Considering that it was Starman that made the statement of "Kal-L", he has jumped to different Earth's, on his journey back through time. I think he might have been thinking about the Earth-2 Kal-L, and might know him, considering all of the retconning that has gone on.
I also believe one of the legionnaires called Superman Kal-El, in aprevious issue of this saga.
There is a lot of possibilities on this one. I look forward to the resolution of this.
