Was it the Filmation cartoons? SuperFriends? Bruce Timm's?

My favorite was probably the 1966 Filmation line-up, which featured:

Atom
Flash
Green Lantern
Hawkman
Superman

I also used to pretend the following were members of the group then, but they didn't have any recorded adventures with the team:

Aquaman
Batman
Green Arrow
Wonder Woman

For some reason, Aquaman was listed as a member in the cartoon's promos, but never was in the 'toons. Batman was on another station and they couldn't get HIS rights for awhile. Green Arrow and Wonder Woman were never shown to have existed in that "universe", but their sidekicks were, so they HAD to be around! ;\)

Timm's Universe is so well done that it brought me, a Marvel Zombie, to the table. As for the best line up, any of the shows that featured Huntress & Question or Black Canary & Green Arrow were outstanding!

I have to admit that I will always have a soft spot for the Challenge of the Super Friends line-up:

Superman
Batman
Robin
Wonder Woman
Aquaman
GL
Hawkman
Flash
Black...ugh...Vulcan
Apache Chief
Samurai

I also always liked the early '80s Super Friends where they brought in Firestorm and Cyborg too though.

I liked the original Bruce Timm line-up from the Justice League.

I, too, have a soft spot in my heart (and on my head) for the SuperFriends' version of the JLA. About the ONLY thing I didn't care about was the fact that Robin, Apache Chief and a few other heroes who were not in the comic were in the cartoon.

I even used to think "Hey, c'mon! Robin's in The Teen Titans, not the JLA! Give him a Teen Titans cartoon!" LOL

I liked the show, but it seemed to me to be more of "DC Universe" than "Justice League".

When I see something called "Justice League", I want to see BIG stories, cosmic in scope. I don't want to see some bad guy that Green Arrow, Black Canary, Atom, Batman, and Hawkman are able to take down. I want Green Lantern, Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman and other HEAVY hitters involved!

Now, don't get me wrong. I liked the smaller stories, it's just that they didn't scream Justice League to me.
