Okay that was the Martian Manhunter and Arthur Curry narrating the story. But the costume of Arthur looked like the new sword-wielding Aquaman from the current Aquaman series. This new Arthur was talking with J'onn like he had been there the whole time. I was under the impression that this is not King Orin, the original Aquaman. Did I miss something? I thought that we learned in Countdown that Orin raised Sub Diego and cured all of the citizens within of their water dependency. He had to call upon some mystical creatures to do this and the aftermath left him cursed(He looked kind of like Davy Jones from Pirates). So was that the new Arthur Curry, the original Orin, or what is going on?

It really seemed like the Orin Aquaman but it wouldn't be the first time DC editors dropped the ball. If no one told Meltzer there was a new Aquaman and the original was dead and if no one had the guts to tell him to change something in his too precious scripts, then crap like this can slip through. I'm just ignoring it and don't even really want them to bother correcting or explaining it. LEave bad enough alone.

I'm betting that Meltzer wanted it his way and didn't care. Wouldn't be the first time. That's kind of a big one for the editors to drop the ball.

My guess is that the end of the current Aquaman series will resurrect Orin, and he'll assume that costume then.

I'm inclined to believe either version. Truthfully, why can't they just let Orin be Aquaman, orange shirt, green fins and gloves and all? They just about had him back to normal with the Sub Diego story and then out of nowhere, he's MIA again...

If it is a case of bad editing...someone should lose their job...seriously.

Found the WWIII jpeg of that Aquaman changing moment. Didn't realize that an Aquagirl was back in the DCU...
