So is the JLU cartoon pretty much finished? I've finished watching all the re-runs on Boomerang and I was just wondering if any follow-up is in the works. I suppose that the last episode wrapped up most of the ongoing plotlines, so maybe that was the proper place to end it. I do question Lex Luthor's saving of Superman at the end. Yeah, we know he and Superman had a common enemy in Darkseid, but it would have been more in character for him to have waited until after Darkseid killed Superman with the Kryptonite dagger to stop him.

BTW, just some comments on the series. I liked it, for the most part. They did a good job of getting all the different characters involved and I loved how they used Lex Luthor in the series. He was more menacing in this cartoon than he has been for most of his comic book existence for the last 20 years or so. I also like, which I'm sure was intentionally a major improvement over the old Superfriends cartoon, is that the characters just get up and use their powers without announcing it or spending 20 minutes elaborating on what they are going to do.

My only major complaint is that they may have overcompensated a little bit for the corniness of the old Superfriends cartoon. I have similar feelings regarding the Ultimates series compared to the Avengers. Yeah, it's supposed to be a more mature and modern take on the characters, which I do actually enjoy, but they may have gone a little bit too far in some cases. Superman is the most obvious example. He definitely came off more like a jerk, especially in the second season of JLU, then he really needed to be. I have a couple other minor tidbits to get off my chest:

-Hawkgirl? For a supposedly modern take, I wish DC would stop having their characters use child nouns for their code names (Superboy, Supergirl, etc.) What's wrong with Hawkwoman? She is an adult, isn't she?

-I would have like to have seen some more appearances from Batman's rogues gallery in the series. An appearance by the Joker or Ra's al Ghul would have been really interesting.

-This is going back to the Superman Animated Series, but I would have preferred for Lois to hook up with Clark Kent, like it happended in the comic, rather than with Superman.

-It was an interesting twist, but I did not like the idea of Prof. Hamilton joining forces with Cadmus. I like him as a good guy.

Anyway, that's just my 2 cents.
