If you haven't read Final Crisis #1... J'onn J'onz, the Martian Manhunter, was murdered by the mysterious Libra. \:'\(

I remember how Grant wrote some of the best Martian Manhunter-related stories during his JLA days, and it must have been painful to write his death, but at the same time fitting, considering Grant was responsible for making J'onn popular again with DC fans.

I don't think Morrison was responsible for J'onn J'onnz' popularity: It was the writer(s) of the Justice League after the Legends series in 1986. \:\)

I remember the war with Mars, where the satellite was destroyed, as being one of the best storylines ever.

Yeah, that was the storyline immediately preceding the formation of the Detroit League of America. The events in that story prompted Aquaman to dissolve the League.

My favourite DC character, and one of my favourite comic characters period, is dead? That's terrible! Can you give some more details? (I live almost 2 hours from my comic shop)

John Ostrander is the man who made the Manhunter for me; I absolutely loved his Martian Manhunter series and it stands as the definitive depiction of the character in my opinion.

Is there anyone who believes J onn wownt be back? He is(I think) only the first of several of the heroes who will perish in F.C.
