I'd leave Gypsy out until Cyndi Lauper comes back into style!

Halo belongs with the Outsiders, and Firehawk's always left me "blah!"

The other three should be members in good standing.

I could never stand Gypsy! I was disappointed at the end of the original JLA run when she ended up surviving the "purge".

Yeah, Gypsy and Vibe were fads that were out-of-date a few months after the issues introducing them were on sale! LOL

I'd say leave Captain Marvel, Power Girl, Mr. Terrific, and Plastic Man with the JSA. Geo Force should stay with the Outsiders, but I DO like Steel as an Honorary Member, or ancillary member. He, along with Mr. Miracle, could work together on the League's security systems, making the HQ impregnable (sp?). Batman could help with this, but by no means should he be the only one, or even in charge. He's had enough security failures to trust completely.

I like the idea of Reserve Alternates from the early '90s Avengers days where each active member had a Reserve member who was "activated" if they were unavailable. That might be fun to play with. My choices would be with the current lineup, assuming they pick their own with the instruction to seek similar powers(ish):

Superman: Steel
Batman: Nightwing
Wonder Woman: Supergirl
Green Lantern: John Stewart
Black Canary: Lady Blackhawk
Red Tornado: Firestorm
Red Arrow: Ollie
Vixen: Animal Man
Black Ligtning: Halo
Flash: Jay Garrick
Hawkgirl: Stargirl

Here's my idea for primary team and reservists:

Primary Team:
Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Hal), Black Canary, Red Tornado, Hawkgirl, Vixen, Black Lightning, Red Arrow, Geo-Force, Flash, Green Lantern (John), and Firestorm

Reserve Substitutes:
Steel, Nightwing, Zatanna, Guy Gardner, Thunderlord, Aquaman, Hawkman, Animal Man, Fire, Green Arrow, Atom, original Impala, Ion, Firehawk

By Steel I mean John, not the Detroit loser. Thunderlord and Impala can come back to life since they are no longer Global Guardians (I was thinking about reviving Bushmaster, too). The rest are just obvious.

Nightwing, Rocket Red #1, Zatanna, Lady Blackhawk, Plastic Man, Supergirl

some of the usual suspects people might bring up like Aquaman, Captain Marvel etc should be full members.

I like the idea of having 'replacment's for each of the current roster - for example having Nightwing available as a reserve if Batman was out for a while - that would keep the skill set level.

That said I think that they should also have specialists on call, such as Zatanna, for things that are outside the core teams area of expertise.

... and then should ALWAYS have Animal Man on speed-dial because he is simply that.damn.good!

My picks are quite similar to yours. Hawkman, Aquaman, and Zatanna ALWAYS need to have a place at the table. ALWAYS. Gypsy needs to be a regular somewhere now that J'onn's off the table for a while, just to explore her reactions, so why not here? (She'd be better in the Hal/Ollie League, as would Hawkman and Aquaman, really, but if they don't want them, we can't force them on them. Sigh.) Halo's been in desperate need for some sort of a hook to give her a place in the DCU for a while now, and JLA membership, while not my first choice, isn't a BAD one. (I think she should go hang out with the Titans, myself.) Firehawk's a good call, especially with her secret ID's benefits to the team.

My own picks? Hawkman, Aquaman, Zatanna, Firehawk, Guy Gardner (for the rare occasion someone takes out Hal AND John), Captain Comet, and Steel.

Gypsy-to me, was an idea that just got lost. I felt her powers were never overly developed, and that she became a Kitty Pryde wannabe to Jonn's "Wolverine", but a more crybaby Pryde. After the original Crisis, I pretty much lost track of her until Jiminez's WW, where they obviously thought her capable of running a squad. Although she was still somewhat glued to Manhunter's side and crying over him. Updates or filler?

Halo-again, not seen or heard much of her since her Outsiders origin and original Crisis. Hated when she cut her hair and changed to her white/grey outfit. Updates on what would maje her special?

any Titan-Sidekicks that will move up? Not so original. Plus, as often as they regroup and disband, could they be available?

Firehawk-I've always had a soft spot for Lorraine. But I still think she and Ronnie should be together. I know lots of whack stuff has happened to her since original Crisis, and she seems a heck of a lot more sure about herself these days, so I could see it. On that note, I think reserves should be more of the characters created as sorta sidekick-ish but not really been on a large team, but still has team-up experience. Does that make sense? That way, they can pretty much always be on call without having to worry about sacrificing to the home team when the JLA needs their help.
