There was a big stoy line in Justice League about him years back but after that run ended I dont remember reading anything else about him.

He made like Deanna Troi's kid did on Star Trek....exit left, never to be heard from or mentioned again. Thank the gods. A side effect of that seems to be that no one remembers any of it either, which is an even bigger blessing.

I don't even think it was retconned. It was just plain dropped. There's no sugar-coating that mess up.
