Not thrilled with the Superman title really so was pleasantly surprised with the degree of enjoyment with this issue. It had near everything but the Big 3. Oh wait, theyre neatly placed on the cover. Well done again! And then there was the rest of it...

-Intriguing villain mystery with the attention grabbing set up and Blue Jay (limited) return: well done. (Poor little guy - does anyone recognize the boot?)
-Nods to JLA nostalgia: well done. (Even stating the number 22,300 was neat.)
-Noted footnote and significant ramifications of a current mini in a main title: well done. (Like stupid baby, might just have to check out, ask, or linksearch just what Prometheus was up to in CRY FOR JUSTICE...)
-'Restart' with a A-list villain AND actually reference Countdown(Sodam Yat): well done.
-Return of a past member: well done.
-An interesting, non-comical, non-cliche predicament with Plaz: WELL DONE. (Actually evoked real pain rather than a smile which was refreshingly different.)
-Kickass fight where Despero is rightly winning and Zatanna exudes air of power: well done.
-Readers were allowed to vicariously anticipate the spell was one letter shy of completion and nicely predict Z's miscast.
-Blackest Night is mandated to happen everywhere anyways so it was an acceptable cliffhanger splash page and villain choice to tease me 'til next issue which will be equally... well done. (Hopefully it will compare to the great run on Starman. And maybe the murderous, murderess Mist will get some facetime.)
-Very exciting solicit for #41 very soon. (http://www.dccomics.com/dcu/comics/?cm=13809)
