So my local library is selling a hardcover reprint of this awesome story. However, I am not sure if it was such a good idea to remind fans like me how awesome that era of the Justice League was, when Morrison was on top of his game and Aquaman had grown beyond his Silver Age image and looked awesome with his beard and harpoon/hook. I mean, all they're doing is making a direct comparison between the current Forever Evil story and what guys like me view as a superior story published more than a decade ago.

Big Morrison on JLA fan, but that one was a misfire for me. I love the Crime Syndicate, but didn't love this take on them. In my little world, I consider this to be an All-Star Superman annual rather then part of JLA.

Things I did like:
I was kinda fascinated with the weird take on Brainiac.
Alternate Luthor

Things I did not like:
-Why wasn't Luthor in red, blue and gold?
-Calling it "Earth Two"
-Owlman. The original Earth 3 Owlman is a challenge to make cool, and I felt they went the easy route and didn't do much with the actual idea
-Owlman's costume
-Superwoman's being alternate Lois Lane
-Superwoman's weird sex thing with alternate Jimmy Olson
-Alternate Jimmy Olson
-Alternate people have hearts on the other sides of their chests?
-Ultraman's throwaway line about their J'onn being a white Martian, again, too easy
-..... Ultraman's secret identity is a pencil mustache
-Johnny Quick: junkie
-Power Ring: boring
- lots of deaths, kinda glossed over

Why would he be? Except for Superwoman all the villains are in their opposite number's colors.

I thought it was funny. Everyone expects "Earth One" to be the one where the heroes are from. I thought the expressions on the good guys' faces at Luthor's statement was pretty funny.

Man, we are just going to have to agree to disagree here. Owlman looked awesome, IMO, and the guy is banging Superwoman. How can he not be cool?

I had no problem with any of this.

And here we agree. Don't think it was necessary, not sure why Grant threw it in.

Not sure what your problem with it was, exactly.

Right. Horned rim glasses are a far more effective disguise.

He's from an evil universe, stands to reason one of the bad guys has a truly evil origin.

And here you do strike good points. They didn't do much with Power Ring; he and Quick are very much junior partners on this team. And yeah, the death count is pretty high; little mention is ever made of the missing jet, and there's no telling how many people died in DC.

Who's to say Luthor WASN'T in orange, purple, and black or something like that? Earth-3's blue might be our RED, their yellow might be our GREEN, and so on.

Think about THAT for a minute. ;\)

What is interesting to me about Earth 3 Luthor's original red blue and gold costume is what those colors traditionally mean. The color code would seem to indicate that Red and Blue, the colors of courage, sacrifice and nobility, mean heroism, while Green, the color of money and of jealousy, means villainy:

Heroes, whose colors are predominately red, blue, or gold:
Spiderman
Superman family
Mon-El
Atom
Wonder Woman and Wonder Girl
Flash
Robin
Aqualad
Speedy
Captain America
Fantastic 4
Earth 3 Luthor
Captain Marvel family
Thor
Iron Man
Ant/Giant Man
Doc Strange
Wonder Man
Cyclops
Angel
Scarlet Witch
Daredevil
Guardian

Villains whose colors are predominately green, or green and purple:
Luthor
Joker
Doom
Mandarin
Green Goblin
Sandman
Doc Ock
Jack'O'Lantern
Loki
Brainiac
Metallo
Parasite
Hulk, a villain quite often in the beginning
Abomination
Magneto, has red but also has purple, AND he flips back and forth...hmmmmm...
Red Skull, Predominately green but has red, NEVER flips
Diablo
Baron Mordo
Dormammu
Desaad
Deep Six
Cobra
Wrecker
Titania

So... That means Aquaman and some Green Lanterns could be anti-heroes or villains, eh? \:\) Hulk usually is, isn't he?

And you forgot about the original Vigilante from the 1940's. \:\)
