I've just read Jeff Lemire's blog saying that he will cancel his Animal Man title in March with issue #29. This is going to be bittersweet since Animal Man helped start the New 52. Jeff will continue to write Buddy in the pages of JUSTICE LEAGUE OF CANADA!!! That's right, Animal Man will be a part of the team which is located in Ontario.

To recap: the roster so far is Adam Strange, a teenage superheroine based on the late Shannen Koostachin, Hawkman, Green Arrow, and Animal Man. Mike McKone will do the artwork for the comic. Hawkman and Green Arrow will be joined by one of their JLA teammates (my bet is either Martian Manhunter or the Simon Baz Green Lantern). And the first issue will be released in April.

Here's my prediction for the final line-up, beginning with confirmed members:

Steve Trevor
Adam Strange
The girl based on Shannen Koostachin
Hawkman
Green Arrow
Animal Man
Martian Manhunter
Green Lantern (Simon Baz) (I'd prefer both on the team)
Atom (either Palmer or Choi)
Black Canary (in place of Katana)
Centrix (from the Global Guardians)

Lemire has also said he was bringing in someone from Frankenstein: Agent of SHADE. My assumption was that it HAD to be Ray Palmer, but perhaps it's Frankenstein himself... Lemire used him in Animal Man after all.

If they announced Ray Palmer, I would believe it. I would assume that he would take the Atom mantle, which would make sense since both Hawkman and Green Arrow are on the team. But still, the confirmed people so far are Adam Strange, the First Nations girl, Hawkman, Green Arrow, and Animal Man.

I would be super happy if Atom made the cut. I would be far happier if Black Canary was announced, too.

And that's not all. One more member of the Justice League of America has been confirmed. But I'm not too sure who it's going to be. For the record, the candidates are J'onn (most likely), Selina, Tatsu, Simon, Cisco, and Courtney. If only Jeff Lemire could give us a hint.

Well, he did say "someone from Agents of SHADE" so that's useful material to know.

I actually suspect that it'll be Simon Baz... I feel like Courtney will almost certainly just go wherever Johns goes next, Selina's too tied up by the Bat-office, and J'onn feels like he's on his way to Justice League to me. Katana will almost certainly get to head back to Birds of Prey.

Oh, and here are my bets for the other six:

J'onn: most likely going to be in JLC
Selina: returning to her shady ways
Tatsu: returning to the Birds of Prey (I hope Black Canary will take her place, she needs to be with the Justice League soon)
Simon: another likely candidate
Cisco: I don't know about him (BTW, he's different from the 80s Vibe in many ways)
Courtney: emigrating to Earth-2
