I think most of fandom wants the JLA to face off against Darkseid, but I'd like to know which of their villains you'd like the JLA to face off against AFTER that. \:\)

Dr. Light
Amos Fortune
The Key
Queen Bee
The Injustice Gang
Shaggy Man
The Weapons Master

There ARE more, so if you wanna "write in" your choice, go ahead. \:\) Personally, I'd like to see Dr. Light minus the Infinity Crisis update they gave him to appear. Make him dangerous like he was in his first few appearances.

The Shaggy Man and Queen Bee (original) are high up on my list, too. \:\)

Yours?

I miss the days when nearly all of those foes were a possibility. Today the Justice League is so heavily into long storyarcs and 'events' the odds for a more generic and lowkey villain to appear is virtually nil.
Still, I would like to see The Weapons Master make a serious return, he has a fair bit of potential and I liked the idea that a Green Lantern Ring was something he coveted.
Starbreaker is a very good cosmic villain for the League and DCU in general, when Dan Jurgens revived him I immediately fell for the concept of the Cosmic vampire who exploded planets for energy. Great villain.
My personal Favorite villains were always The Royal Flush Gang, the originals, not the street gang of the new DCU. If like me you first met them in JLA #203 you can never forget them....

More neglected villains I would like dusted off and treat seriously would include Felix Faust and Anti-Matter Man.

For the Justice League, I'd like to see Professor Amos Fortune, the Key, Queen Bee, and a new Injustice League compromising Lex Luthor, Joker, Cheetah, Captain Cold, Sinestro, Black Manta, Mammoth, and Dr. Sivana.

For Justice League Canada, I wouldn't mind seeing them tackle Shaggy Man and some of the foes the JLA tackled. Also, have an Injustice League of Canada, compromising Count Vertigo, Shadow Thief, Chronos, Shiv, Shaggy Man, a revived Dr. Light, Major Disaster, and Killer Frost.

For Justice League Dark, have them fight Felix Faust and his Demons Three.

None of those. Don't get me wrong they are all good villains and should show up at some point, but one of things bothering me about Nu52 is the lack of originality. Sure, reimagining the heroes and villains has to take place but at some point new, fresh ideas have to breathed into the books.

Some c'mon writers, give us something new!

Have you got something/someone in mind? How would you re-imagine some of their foes?

About the ONLY idea I don't like is the Injustice Gang. I don't know why, though. Maybe the heroes tackled their own foes too often in the past for my tastes. I'd like to see Superman take on Green Lantern's foe, Green Lantern take on Flash's, Flash take on Wonder Woman's, and so on. Mix it up, and you'd re-energize the Injustice Gang. \:\)

The JLA could do with a concerted drive to create some new opponents and build up a convincing recurring rogues gallery. Back in the day they tended to deal with one-off threats and cosmic emergencies, that list you wrote down of their traditional rogues consists of villains created in the Silver-age, and while all terrific creations it does prove the point that the League's recurring foes tend to stop with that era.
I'm possibly generalising with this argument I admit. But after the Silver-age are there many foes who could be said to be both successful and recurring? There's The Queen of Fables. Arguably The Extremists. Prometheus. The White Martians - most of the candidates come from the JLA's 90s series, while the 80s Giffen/DeMatteis era offers little apart from Queen Bee.

Thinking further though I would like some focus on some of the league's mystical foes - whatever happened to The Demons Three?

A fully Lovecraftian Starro would be a LOT of fun.

I KIND of like this idea, but not too many superheroes seem to work well in horror stories. \:\(
