Subj: Convergence Countdown Week 3: Time To Say Goodbye To More Titles!!!
Posted: Fri Mar 20, 2015 at 11:46:38 pm EDT (Viewed 7 times)

It's Week Three of saying adios to a lot of titles that make up the New 52 Universe. This week, we say a tearful dosvidanya to Batman and Robin, Batwoman, Green Lantern: New Guardians, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Supergirl, and Trinity of Sin. Instead of four titles, we end six this week. Batman and Robin will restart as Robin, Son of Batman. Batwoman ended due to the fact that Charles Soule left DC. Green Lantern: New Guardians ended due to the fact that Green Lantern should have three titles. Red Hood and the Outlaws will relaunch as Red Hood and Arsenal, while Starfire gets her own title. We'll still see Supergirl in the pages of Justice League United (I just hope Starfire will join in as well). Trinity of Sin didn't sell too well and the run was just six issues.

However, we still have Batman/Superman, Justice League, Sinestro, Teen Titans, and Wonder Woman after Convergence ends. Even better news is that there will be a second comic featuring the main Justice League called Justice League of America (no relation to the title which boasts Martian Manhunter, Catwoman, Green Arrow, Hawkman, Simon Baz, Vibe, Katana, and Stargirl). This series will have the main seven (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Hal), Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg) and I hope Shazam joins later on. I think this is going to be fun.

So let's tally up the titles we have left:

Action Comics
Detective Comics
Gotham Academy
Grayson
Green Arrow
Green Lantern
Lobo
Secret Six
Batgirl
Batman
Justice League United (to resume in July, hopefully)
New Suicide Squad
Superman/Wonder Woman
Batman/Superman
Justice League
Sinestro
Teen Titans
Wonder Woman
Aquaman
Arkham Manor
Catwoman
Deathstroke
Flash
Harley Quinn
Justice League Dark
Red Lanterns
Secret Origins
Star-Spangled War Stories
Superman

A moment of silence for the titles that are discontinued:

Hawk and Dove
Men of War
OMAC
Static Shock
Mister Terrific
Blackhawks
Justice League International
Resurrection Man
Captain Atom
Voodoo
GI Combat
Frankenstein: Agent of SHADE
Grifter
Legion Lost
Blue Beetle
DC Universe Presents
I, Vampire
Deathstroke (volume 1)
Ravagers
Team 7
Sword of Sorcery
Fury of Firestorm
Savage Hawkman
Dial H
Demon Knights
Threshold
Legion of Super-Heroes
Batman Incorporated
Katana
Justice League of America's Vibe
Green Team
Animal Man
Batman The Dark Knight
Talon
Stormwatch
Justice League of America
Nightwing
Suicide Squad
Superman Unchained
Teen Titans (volume 1)
Movement
Larfleeze
Batwing
Phantom Stranger
Birds of Prey
Superboy
Pandora
All-Star Western
Aquaman and the Others
Earth-2
Justice League 3000
Swamp Thing
Constanine
Green Lantern Corps
Infinity Man and the Forever People
Klarion
World's Finest
Batman and Robin
Batwoman
Green Lantern: New Guardians
Red Hood and the Outlaws
Supergirl
Trinity of Sin

It looks like the main Justice League will have double duty in June with not one, but TWO comics based on them. I just hope Green Lantern returns to Justice League and Shazam joins the team in Justice League of America. Also, I pray Starfire (along with among others, the Atom) join Justice League United's eight-person line-up.

I'm not too sure which comics will be Week 3 after Convergence, but I for one am looking forward to Justice League of America. If they don't appear in Justice League United, I'd like to see Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Hawkman, Stargirl, and newcomer Atom join JLA (they'll likely remain in JLU). Until then, see you next week when more titles are given a fond farewell and we have 25 surviving titles left.
