Subj: Convergence Countdown Week 4: RIP to 5 More Titles Posted: Fri Mar 27, 2015 at 11:19:04 pm CDT (Viewed 12 times)
It's the final week of the big send-off to so many titles. This week, we say a tearful goodbye to Arkham Manor, Justice League Dark, Red Lanterns, Secret Origins, and Star-Spangled War Stories. Arkham Manor was not too popular and was only supposed to last for six issues. While Justice League Dark was one of the many starting titles, the series wasn't doing so well these days, so the title was killed off. Red Lanterns, another starting title, was cancelled because of the dominance of the Green Lantern line. Secret Origins wasn't supposed to last long, so the series was cancelled after eleven issues (and I wanted to learn more about the characters). In the tradition of Men of War, GI Combat, and Threshold, Star-Spangled War Stories was cancelled after eight issues (some people were bored of the title anyway). In light of these cancellations, we still have Aquaman, Catwoman, Deathstroke, Flash, Harley Quinn, and Superman, along with nineteen surviving titles after the big Convergence crossover. To match with these titles, we'll probably see members of Justice League Dark appear in either Dark Universe or Mystic U (if you ask me, Zatanna should be on the main Justice League, I'm only saying). So let's tally the remaining twenty-five surviving New 52 titles (one of which will continue in July): Action Comics Detective Comics Gotham Academy Grayson Green Arrow Green Lantern Lobo Secret Six Batgirl Batman Justice League United (to be continued in July) New Suicide Squad Superman/Wonder Woman Batman/Superman Justice League Sinestro Teen Titans Wonder Woman Aquaman Catwoman Deathstroke Flash Harley Quinn Superman A moment of silence for the discontinued titles we miss the most: Hawk and Dove Men of War OMAC Static Shock Mister Terrific Blackhawks Justice League International Resurrection Man Captain Atom Voodoo GI Combat Frankenstein: Agent of SHADE Grifter Legion Lost Blue Beetle DC Universe Presents I, Vampire Deathstroke (Volume 1) Ravagers Team 7 Sword of Sorcery Fury of Firestorm Savage Hawkman Dial H Demon Knights Threshold Legion of Super-Heroes Batman Incorporated Katana Justice League of America's Vibe Green Team Animal Man Batman: The Dark Knight Talon Stormwatch Justice League of America Nightwing Suicide Squad Superman Unchained Teen Titans (Volume 1) Movement Larfleeze Batwing Phantom Stranger Birds of Prey Superboy Pandora All-Star Western Aquaman and the Others Earth-2 Justice League 3000 Swamp Thing Constantine Green Lantern Corps Infinity Man and the Forever People Klarion World's Finest Batman and Robin Batwoman Green Lantern: New Guardians Red Hood and the Outlaws Supergirl Teen Titans Arkham Manor Justice League Dark Red Lanterns Secret Origins Star-Spangled War Stories and, of course, the weekly comics (Batman Eternal, Future's End, and Earth-2: World's end) And now, let's welcome a new load of comics joining the remaining comics after Convergence: Batman Beyond Bat-Mite (mini series) Bizarro (mini series) Black Canary Constantine: The Hellblazer (a continuation of Constantine) Cyborg (to be released in July) Dark Universe (to be released in July) Doctor Fate Doomed Earth-2: Society (a continuation of Earth-2) Green Lantern: Lost Army Harley Quinn/Power Girl Justice League of America Justice League 3001 (a continuation of Justice League 3000) Martian Manhunter (to be released in July) Midnighter Mystic U (to be released by July) Omega Men Prez (mini series) Red Hood/Arsenal (a continuation of Red Hood and the Outlaws) Robin, Son of Batman (a continuation of Batman and Robin) Section Eight (featuring the one and only Dogwelder) Starfire (from the pages of Red Hood and the Outlaws) We Are Robin I'm not too sure what the pattern for the weeks after Convergence will be like, but if you ask me, they should be fun. Until then, see you after Convegence. RIP New 52!!! The best is yet to come...
