They should let him continue to plot (and pencil) and give him a co-writer for dialogue/plot. Editor needs a tighter rein here.

The first two issues are nothing remotely thrilling for a seasoned comic reader (all rather cliche, so far), but may be more enjoyable for someone new.

As mediocre as its been, it's nice seeing (relatively) normal looking renditions of the characters while Superman is currently a bozo in a t-shirt and Batman is robo-Gordon. Johns/Fabook book is good, but comes out too infrequently.

I will look at issue 3 in the store, and if doesn't look good I will be dropping the series.

I'm not even a fan of his illustrating. But I'll take it over the writing. He was obviously pretty influenced by Millar (not a fan) and is working on the long build up with the 'if its too good to be true' scenario. Can't bring myself to bother with issue #3.
