Justice League 059

Dropped this series after it had jumped the shark years ago but now there's a strong possibility of jumping back on board as a regular reader with this new beginning, ironically, filled with a Wall Of Sharks.

The JUSTICE LEAGUE relaunch under storytellers Bendis (and Marquez) was much better than was anticipated. The current Critic Rating average, of 7.7, at comicbookroundup seems about right:

Brutus introduced as a formindable new arch-enemy. Continuity connections to the recently to the recently introduced Bendis pet-character of Naomi could work. The polarizing presence of Black Adam (retweaked) proves an engaging draw. Not to mention, literally all the drawing, is good. The active line-up has 7 classic and diverse members (revealed so far) with Naomi and Black Adam solicited to join the ranks (and https://www.previewsworld.com/Catalog/JAN217043 Hippolyta?!). There were a couple of character 'moments' to enjoy mixed into the Round 1 of the interdimensional crisis BUT it could have used more, and more franchise exposition, and more early teaser promotion.

This JL relaunch did not need an unrelated backup story to steal pages of content and curiousity that could satisfy readers with what the cover is selling. And the Justice League Dark (iwannasay) relaunch deserved it's own book - certainly more than a non-descript promo blurb on the cover. Plus, that JC/Z/Blood/Merlin setup was more informative than engaging.
