What are your top five members of the JSA? These are mine:

1. Starman - equally Ted Knight/Jack Knight/Thom Kallor
2. Superman Earth-2
3. Power Girl
4. Mr. Terrific - Micheal Holt: I have almost as many undergraduate and graduate degrees.
5. Hourman - Rick Tyler

1)Wildcat (Ted Grant)
2)The Atom (Al pratt)
3)Green Lantern (Alan Scott)
4)Mr Terriffic (Micheal Holt)
5) three way tie between Star Spangled Kid/Skyman, Stargirl, and Johnny Thunder and the Lightningbolt

I would have put Starman on this list (as I loved his solo series, thats great stuff!) but I felt like he was not even on the JSA, they did not develop this very much/at all. (imo). Come to think of it, it would be cool to see a one shot with Jack Knight being more true to the character,etc.. now that would be cool ;\)

> What are your top five members of the JSA? These are mine:

1.) Hawkman - I've ALWAYS related to Hawkman. He and I have always had similar personalities and worldviews, with the exception of the Messner-Loebs era. (I chalk that entire period up to the insanity from the Hawk-merger.) There's virtually no story he can't find a place in, and I just generally love reading about him. My only regret is that he can't be on the JSA AND the JLA. \:\)

2.) Dr. Fate (Kent Nelson) - I've always loved Kent and his magical helmet. I'll be onboard for the new Dr. Fate ongoing for sure.

3.) Mr. Terrific - I really like Michael. He's one of the best examples of a nonrelated legacy hero ever, and that just tickles me. His role in Checkmate promises to expand the character even more. What a great use for a character than languished in Limbo for years after his creation!

4.) Hourman - Both Rex and Rick have become some of my favorite characters recently, with their never-say-die nature... even after actually dying! I hope the clock never runs out on either of them.

5.) Wildcat - The gruff everyman type of hero has an appeal for me, and for one with as strange a life as poor Ted's lived, I'm glad to see him keeping to his roots. What a great character.

I'm going to give honorable mention to Maxine Hunkle, who's just as cute as can be, and the new Starman, who is as original a character as I've seen in a while. I wouldn't be surprised to see them slide onto my list in future editions. Count me in for hoping poor Mr. America pulls through after issue #1. (Still haven't seen #2 yet, thanks to my subscription service.)

.) Hourman (Rex Tyler) - Rick is a great character but you can't beat the original.
2.) Dr. Fate (Kent Nelson) - A very interesting mystic character that has held up over the years but sadly never found a worthy successor.
3.) Starman (Ted Knight) - The whole outfit and cosmic rod just worked for me and he probably has the best legacies of any JSAers.
4.) The Spectre (Jim Corrigan) - How can you not like a ghost who is the embodiment of the wrath of God? Almost all the Jim Corrigan versions of this character have been enjoyable but now he seems to have lost his focus.
5.) Johnny Thunder (and Thunderbolt) - Johnny was a fun character who really came into his own in the JLA/JSA team ups of the 60's-80's. It also became obvious in the JSA stories that he kept the original members grounded and kept things from becoming too grim at times.

Honorable mention to the original Mr. Terrific Terry Sloan. I always like this character even though he got the short end of the JSA stick. I was REALLY impressed with his treatment in the Justice Society mini series where the super powered JSA members were shown to have tremendous respect for him because of his natural abilities.

1.) Sandman- - I loved Westley Dodds as him and think Sanderson can be a good replacement.
2.) Dr. Mid-Nite - I think having a physician in the team is a smart idea and would have loved to have seen more of him with Black Canary.
3.) Spectre - I agree with Sweep as this character has lose it's focus. Jim Corrigan was the best.
4.) Dr. Fate - He has been through the trash from the female/ male merger to the Lobo wannbe. Kent Nelson should return.
5.) Mr. Terrific - Michael Holt is excellent.

Mr. Terrific - Michael Holt (best 'legacy' hero EVER!)
Dr. Fate - Kent Nelson
Green Lantern - Alan Scott (best GL ever)
Flash - Jay Garrick (best Flash ever)
Hawkman - Carter Hall (best Hawk ever)

Honorable mention to both Huntress and Power Girl from Earth-2. Unfortunately the latest versions of both don't come close to their Earth-2 counterparts. And until Mr. Terrific came along the Earth-2 Huntress was the best legacy character.

Cheers,
Neil

I don't think I can put them in any particular order, but here are mine:

Hourman
Mr. Terrific
Power Girl
Stargirl
Flash

Tough to answer. I'd go with (in no particular order)...

1. Sentinel/Green Lantern
2. Hawkman
3. Jakeem Thunder
4. Hourman II (Rick Tyler0
5. Stargirl

Progressive Lantern

...so, he sure tops this list.
My other four favourite JSAers, would be:
*2 - Black Canary I (Dinah Drake)
*3 - Flash Jay Garrick;
*4 - Sand (Sanderson Hawkins);
*5 - Stargirl.

"Alright you primitive screw-heads, listen up. See this? This is my boomstick! It's a 12-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan; retails for about one hundred nine, ninety-five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right, shop smart, shop S-Mart!"

> What are your top five members of the JSA?

1. Hawkman- The GA Hawks always made more sense to me because why would a technologically advanced alien dress as a earth bird and use ancient earth weaponry?

2. Sandman- The suit and gas mask version of the character, please. He definitely has more of a pulp hero feel to him than any of the other comic book heroes.

3. Dr. Fate (Kent Nelson)- With every new version of the character, I am more and more convinced killing off Kent Nelson was a mistake.

4. Johnny Thunder- As great as the Golden Age was, the personalities of the heroes were pretty generic. Sure there were differences between them, but they were always the smartest, bravest, strongest, most moral guys around. Johnny was none of those things but he tried and that was what made him so unique. I think he was very underrated in that way.

5. Hourman - Rex Tyler "Just tell me who to hit." There was always something cool about the guy. Maybe it was the costume, maybe it was the personality...Whatever it was, he always was a favorite.
