Okay, Superman and others had adventures in WW2. Then all these heroes got put on Earth-2, with the "modern" heroes on Earth-1. So it was the Earth-2 Superman who fought in WW2, and the Earth-1 Superman did not. So were there WW2 heroes on Earth-1? Was there a Justice Society equivalent on Earth-1, or was the Justice League the first Earth-1 team?

The Justice League was the first Earth-1 team.

There were a handful of characters who Earth-1 histories meant that they were active in WWII, but for the most part the company line was that Earth-1 Superman was the first hero in the modern age, and he began his career about a decade ago.

Hopefully DC will fix all of this and bring back the mutiunivere so the golden age comics I grew up with, with Superman will back back in continuity.
