Where and when did his face get mutilated by Zoom?

BTW, someone told me Alan got his other eye in a JSA classified issue. Which one is it?

The battle between Damage and Zoom that was part of the senseless and still unresolved slaughter of the Freedom Fighters in Infinite Crapfest (oops I mean Crisis) #1.

You got me on this. Up until the most recent issue of JSA: Classified I still thought Alan was wearing a patch. I the "body composed of green flame" angle is true then he never should have been missing an eye in the first place.

In Paul Levitz issues closing out the last JSA issue, he had Jade's spirit visit her father. I never paid much attention to this, but people have said the green eye is Jade's gift. I just assumed he used his power to give himself an eye when he powered up.
When Alan is depowered, he still wears an eyepatch. Alan isn't made of energy anymore, in the last series he put all his power back into the ring he wears. He's a human again, albeit healthier than man should be for his age.
