In the earlier days of the JSA title, there was a plot thread where it was implied that Hawkgirl was both wanted and a murderer. I think I was told that it was dealt with in Hawkman, but I never read that and was curious what happened there.

She killed a guy that attempted to rape her and her mother. Totally self-defense, and it was only put up as murder because she ran and the guy happened to be a police officer, who was then found dead with no explanation. His partner ended up becoming police chief of St. Roch, and was killed by the Gentleman Ghost for fun, explaining exactly what happened before he died.

I just finished rereading all 87 issues of the previous JSA series (Johns run on that book was probaly the greatest ever), but anyway I was curious about the relationship b/t Hawkgirl and Hawkman. In the current DCU it seems that they are an item. This obviously wasn't touched upon in the JSA series, so I'm assuming it happened in Hawkman's series. What made Kendra open up to Carter?

She finally totally awoke briefly as Sheira, the two of them finally defeated Hath-Set, and Sheira's soul passed into the Afterworlds after telling Carter to give Kendra a chance as herself. This apparently didn't come to pass after all... she's sleeping with Arsenal in JLA #12.

? Thought the whole reason her soul was in Kendra's body to begin with was because K. committed suicide, thus leaving the body vacant for Sheira's wandering spirit. She just had K's memories and such because of it being biologically K's body and brain.

Never really cared for the Kendra aspect of Johns' revamp. Preferred Thomas' Hawkgirl in All-Star Squadron.
