CBR has an article about an influx of even more new JSA members. There's the return of JSA'er Jakeem Thunder to the team, plus the new Mr. America, Judomaster and Amazing Man and then there's Lightning and someone Johns only calls Lance Corporal David Ried. I understand that he wants to make the team a true society and you need a big pool for that but twenty-three members? With what has to be even less face time for everybody, the rest of you are going to find out how us Obsidian fans feel...

Personally, I love the idea of a large pool of characters to use. Of course, it's always dependent on whether or not they're used right.

And Johns is definitely one of the people who could do it right...

Right.... What happened with Jay and Joan's child? And where is Hourman I? We've barely seen him in the last couple of years since his resurrection (oops, I mean since he was snatched seconds from his death even though we had stories of him as a ghost...). And how about Hawkgirl's daughter? Johns had to move PG's "supposed origin story" to JSA Classified, and we still didn't get much more than a poor lead in to Infinite Crapfest. Johns is all flash and little to no follow through.

I can agree to a point. It was frustrating sometimes with the JSA waiting for characters to get some serious airtime and attention - Joan Garrick was revealed to have cancer, what happened?! Johnny Thunder, is he still the Thunderbolt? Too many loose ends are lieing around and characters like Dr Midnite & Alan Scott not getting much in the way of attention.

...Oh, Did i say lol BTW? *rhe*

It went into remission per Flash v.2 #189.

> Johnny Thunder, is he still the Thunderbolt?

Nope -- he's been shown as a seperate entitty from it, living in the Thunderbolt dimension with the T-Bolt and its family(!).

Sadly, that's kinda the point. Johns just doesn't juggle large casts well. I've been making that complaint for awhile now and it's only gotten worse. His non-origin for Powergirl got shuffled off to another title which didn't really resolve anything but lead in to another mini-series he had a hand in. So, now you have a sub-plot introduced in the JSA and was resolved in another book. The one-year jump allowed for some subplots to resolve themselves off camera such as Hourman II & Liberty Belle II to have a relationship and get married when they hadn't even been revealed as having started dating beforehand.

When was that? Pretty sure that the issues of them in the T-bolt dimension showed that Johnny was still the T-bolt and he now had a family of T-bolts (one of whom was named after his adoptive daughter if I recall correctly). Just that as time passed, Johnny has been losing more and more of his human appearance and looking more like the T-bolt.

Some of these posts are reminding me of the old ladies complaining about the food in the resteraunt and one of them saying that their biggest problem is that the portions are too small. Just now there's literally a host of new characters or revisited characters like Damage, Starman, and Liberty Bell and so they get face time over the veterans. I'm sure long term this will change, but the theme now is the next generation. That being said some of the new characters hold very little appeal for me, cyclone and wildcat especially, and I'd like to see more of Alan Scott and Dr. Midnight. But as good as the stories have been centering on Citizen Steel and Liberty Bell I'm willing to wait.

But how long are you willing to wait? This was a problem long before Damage, Starman, Liberty Belle and Cyclone were brought into the book. Johns has a habit of starting subplots and then forgetting them because he has a new subplots.

I don't know. I loved kingdom come, so i can probably tolerate the focus being on kingdom come supes for a little bit. really dc should show some initiative and get some of these characters their own books.

I can't wait for the KC nonsense to be forgotten again. I've never read the mini because the concept and especially the horrific art didn't appeal to me. I kinda resent it being shoe horned into a series I do like.
