It seems a natural, Batman + Sandman, but did they have any contact in the modern age? Wes Dodds seems like he'd be something of a direct inspiration for the Dark Knight and it would be very peculiar if they had no contact.

Any Ideas?

"LOL ...LMAO...*wink*... Guffaw... *sigh*..." (etc etc...)

Yes, Batman and Sandman have met, and have probably worked together in a JLA/JSA team up.

Yes they have, a few times at least in JLofA stories. Who knows if any of it is in continuity anymore, but it's imbedded solidly in my memory.

They definately met in DC special number 29.Its the untold origin of the JSA. I remember buying that issue as a kid in 1977.(from 7-11 in the good old days when they sold comics) Its a good start issue in that you get to see alot of pre crisis (orignal) things such as a gotham city that is home to both Alan Scott and Batman. (set on original Earth 2)

Sandman shows up in chapter four...here is some text "Across the ocean, America sleeps..resting peacefully as only the innocent can...but for those not so innocent sleep has come uninvited this evening and restless as well for thiers is the sleep of the damned...men who have used the dark night as a cloak and have been punished in return. Punished by the Sandman." (gotta love the old days with writing like that )

The Sandman meets Hawkman and the Atom (Al Pratt) first, then pretty much everyone when Dr Fate forms the team. (with Batman...or Batman of Earth 2 if you would like aka the original Batman)

There is not alot of interaction between the two but they definatley met. Good reading to you.
