You know, I have no trouble with Black Lightning's ever growing family. It's easy to assume the marriage was pre-the 70's series and he sent alimony and had visitations in between panels and issues. I actually love Thunder and Lightning looks cool too. I just wouldn't mind the Winick and Johns additions to Isabella's origin detailed somewhere, that's all. I assume that was an ex-wife in the latest issue but the writing was so maddeningly vague a case could be made for it being a current wife. Has there been any word on any Black Lightning Year One story or series?

I don't have a problem with it either. I just don't think any of the characters belong in the Justice Society.

She's in it because this incarnation of the JSA seems to be all about recreating characters from KINGDOM COME. Seriously considering dropping the book, all it has done is keep bringing in new legacy characters while the plotlines have gone nowhere and characters barely developed beyond basic templates. The latest issue says that all the new ones are now experienced but it's not like we've actually seen any kind of learning curve going on with any of them.

It's hard to get into comics especially if you are in college trying to keep up the grades. So far,I like the story and I do like some of the characters. I rather see Lightning join forces with the Teen Titans or Titans. I don't mind Judo Master, Mr. America, Amazing man and the guy that has tatoo on his arm becoming part of the JSA team. The younger ones need to start their own team players,Justice.

I think it would be better if DC start a new team of Justice taking Lightning and few other former Titans members making them into the all-new Justice series. But then again. It might not work out.

Sadly, I agree with you. When they made that comment in the latest issue about experience, I immediately thought when? Why weren't we shown this? Cyclone and Tomcat seem to be acting as green as ever. This is just a bad omen in storytelling if you ask me. Beef up the team beyond you capacity to do anything productive with the characters and then flush them down the toilet to get that "epic " feel.

If any character right now needs a Year One story, it's Black Lightning. They've tweaked around his origins quite a bit, and he and his daughter are now in DC's two top selling titles, with the other daughter a major character in a mid-selling title. Black Lightning's practically demanding a Year One to sort out his legacy. DC's making a mistake if they don't do one soon while the character's exposure is high.

If even Metamorpho gets a Year One, there's no excuse.
