this is just the S-L-O-W-E-S-T damn JSA arc I think Johns has ever written.
Like the concept, interested in the delivery but man is this storyline ever tailored to a TPB.

God it's slow!

This IS the slowest arc in JSA/Johns' history- however I think the reason is two fold -
1. We are dealing with the formation of some major characters and themes in the DC Universe. If he rushed it that would be unfortunate too.

2. We are a little spoiled. I just reread all the trades since Johns took over and this has consistently been one of the most action packed books in mainstream comics. Compared to some Marvel titles it is almost breathtaking how fast it moves.

3. The size of the team has become just too unwieldy. I can see now that having them there to be changed altered and eventually give birth to a highly populated future DC superverse.

Just my thoughts

I also think Johns has been a little overextended in other series and maybe thats why this has been drawn out

Oh, I know we're spoiled, thats why I'm being patient!

Yeah, there seems to be a plan here with all these heroes.

I agree with the Thor thing and that's why I've avioded it. For some reason I love JMS slow burn on Squadron or The Twelve, but on a mainstream book I can't take it.

If I read just JSA and Captain America, I'd do my head in.
The stories are both so drawn out. I too just want Kingdom Come to come and go, and I want Steve Rogers to finally return from the dead so that he can put a fire under Brubaker's seat.
Hurry up guys! \:\)
