Ian Karkull's temporal radiation kept the JSA (INCLUDING LOIS,SUPERMAN,AND SUPERMAN) young. They never should have grown old in the first place, there was a built in very-much-in-continuity explanation as to why those JSAers all would still look young. I don't want a JSA where Superman,Batman, and Wonder Woman are dead. I don't want Power Girl dating the fake Mr. Terrific, or Hawkman's wife dating every guy but him. I don't want a homosexual Alan Scott, or any other unorthodox changes that may give us a ghoul Dr. Fate, a necrophile fake Spectre (I want the Corrigan Spectre, written correctly, not a fake: Spectre would pimp-slap that cartoon Mxyzptlk), a Wildcat that's in love with a real black panther, or any other freak-of-the week rare condition that PC jerks want to showcase and offend fans of normalcy.Don't normal people read comics too?

I'd like to see Superman have his red trunks again. Take a look at the animated DC films, tho', and see what they've done. They did a Flashpoint movie, and after that the next film shows Superman in the "nu" costume. The pre-Flashpoint realities seem to be gone for good. I mean, for cryin' out loud, they CHANGED SUPERMAN'S COSTUME! He was the first, and they did it to him. DC is owned by Time Warner, and they're a bunch of suits with no feel for the characters. They want what's "with it" and "kewl". They try to appeal to, let's face it, the lowest common denominator. Make things weird, off center, violate tradition, separate characters from their roots, set things on fire, blow things up, show SUPERMAN (SUPERMAN!) with a bloody mouth again and again... This ain't your grand-daddy's DC Universe, and the suits don't want it to be. Even if their precious "DCnU" doesn't work.

Quote: Bring back the pre crisis DC characters young lookingAgreed. Bring them back It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

Subject: I want to read about about the traditional heroes I grew up with in the Silver and bronze age. Today's "heroes" are all way too liberal. It's unrealistic. [Re: Knight] Posted Fri Apr 25, 2014 at 01:37:37 pm EDT (Viewed 18 times) |

When you evaluate the psychology of people likely to become vigilantes to pursue their own version of justice and fight criminals, the mindset of the right (which despises the criminal fraternity whereas the left embraces and mollycoddles criminals and want them to have the right to vote after they murdered innocents) is more realistically likely to become a vigilante like Batman. Punisher is the one type of character I could easily see becoming a reality some day.

You might enjoy AXECOP. I cannot tell if it is liberal or conservative.
