Along with LoS it looks like the JSA will be returning to print but maybe not on E2. In this article from another site they state,"DC Chief Creative Officer and the architect of Rebirth Geoff Johns also confirmed that the Legion of Super-Heroes, JSA, New Gods, and Shazam would all have a place in the post-Rebirth universe, but that each of these properties warranted a major story to herald their return, and needed room to breathe and not get lost among today's announcements."

Earlier they also point out that E2 Society will continue as is with no change in numbering, but will this new JSA be alongside modern books or be yet another alternate world?

That is both encouraging and strange news to hear. They appear to be saying that there will be two distinct Justice Societies in the DCU...

I had just about given up one Earth-2:Society despite the improvement these last two issues as the decimation of the last two years is difficult to stand for, but if Dan Abnett continues with the series I will certainly be staying around as he has rather impressed me with the shambles he has inherited, Jorge Jiminez too has improved significantly, but ideally I would like an artist more conventional. It irks me that anything Geoff Johns writes will get all the best artists around to support him, while a book like Earth-2 is left in a corner to sink or swim.
I am dreading the thought of a potential two divergent Justice Societies though, that is utter madness.

On a more hopeful front the news that the Legion is heading back to favour is cautiously good news for me. Geoff Johns did a good job ressurecting the team, and I would be very excited to hear he has a hand in any revival.

Have they officially called themselves the JSA yet in E2? I thought there was a round about mention of it, but I missed a block between the decimation of their planet and Society.

I'm pretty interested in PG and Huntress, too. Are there multiple versions of them now? They are on E2 along with Terrific, but I thought I saw Huntress in a line up in the Rebirth books AND the new Super Woman could well be our favorite JSA lass from Krypton?

No, they have never yet officially banded together or taken a group identity, though have come close on several occasions.
It really is one of the aspects to the book that has begun to impede it, both from a brand identification perspective and the internal story logic. One suggestion I have read online has said that DC are purposely vetoing the Justice Society name, anf given the sabotaging of the series over the last two years and the assigning of mediocre talent I can see the case for an antipathy. Why I do not know - this series was one of the most creatively and commercially successful things to come out of their 2011 relaunch. Still averaging a 40'000 sales average two years or more after it launched, long after many other books had dipped to 20-30'000 averages.
It saddens me to see the waste of potential, by culminating in the destroying of their earth the series becomes a dead duck, it now treads the same stagnant waters that Legion of Super-heroes did after Keith Giffen's landmark, and disasterous, obliterating the earth back in the early 1990's.

I think there is a new Huntress on earth-1 come Rebirth, but it looks like Mr Terrific has somehow found his way back to Earth-1 without any mention at all of it in Earth-2. Lazy editing.

So there will be the normal JSA team on earth prime due to rebirth, and maybe will add Shazam, or other familiar faces?

SO if the real JSA band is reforming back on prime earth, why even have E2 ones then?

or maybe bring their Superman over to prime earth, as they will be having several in rebirth!

Good question, it all remains to be seen. Hopefully there will be no more supermen, with 'Lois and Clark' Supes in, New52 Supes taking the dirt nap, Jon White taking the reigns as SuperBoy and Kara around with 'some' Lois as SuperWoman that should be quite enough S chests flying around. Oh, and the Chinese guy, but he has a different symbol, I think.

Is the Spectre still on JSA?

And why not have superdad be the resident Superman on JSA, taking place of Kal-L?

Unknown. Rumour online has it that the publisher may be about to reveal a secret history of Earth-Prime, where contrary to what we have been repeatedly told there actually was a history of Super-heroes active in World War II. I am not thrilled at the idea as it further convolutes the waters of the JSA with yet another reboot of sorts and sets up two competing versions of the characters, in print at the same time.

Of course, this is rumour though...

If any truth in it, and coming on top of the Superman antics, then I shake my head in despair.

A Very nice tease for the fans. On the one hand I am intrigued at what Geoff Johns' ideas are, at his best he can work absolute miracles at repositioning old continuity in such a way it empowers the present, on the other side of the equation I am cynical as now matter how good his ideas on salvaging the past and repairing the present he is up against a system of management that thinks little of the company's integrity and the wellbeing of its publishing line, but rather the bottom line of the almighty dollar.

I often wish Johns was more committed to the publishing side rather than the multimedia aspect, if given the editor-in-chief role over the DCU it might prove a remarkably buoyant affair...
