DC Comics have released a Sneak Preview for issue #16 of Earth-2, and amidst the ongoing plot by the Ultra-Humanite, who now controls Alan Scott's body, comes an apparent continuity conundrum. "The Weapons of Oa" comment from the Humanite - an obvious mistake from writer Dan Abnett, or is the Humanite more than he seems?

I was also wondering about the change it appears Green Lantern origin is back to the traditional form a unexplained change from new writer Dan Abnett who already has his power being ring based in a recent issue a departure from Robinson origin

I must of missed an issue why is the helmet of Nabu shattered? How could something of magic stay shattered?

Is Alan the Sentinal over there then, and most powerful being on earth 2 ?
And is OA same as Guardians here on Earth Prime?

Have these weapons been mentioned/used before then?

Well I can't believe it is a mistake from Dan Abnett, but on the other hand it makes no sense at all. None.
This series has long had an appalling attitude to even the most basic of continuity, but how one can go from Alan Scott's established origins to having the Ring be Oan takes my breath away... you would have to ignore most of the Earth-2 stories seen so far to even entertain any Oan connection.

Unexplained, as with why/how Michael Holt returned to Earth-1 this is something that occurs in the gap between the Worlds End series and this current 'Society' series. Like so many other things in this series stuff just happens, there is never any explanation of logic, it just appears there on the page and the reader is left to either work out their own reasoning or frown away in annoyance.

There is no Oa that we know of in the Earth-2 universe, but then again there is a Mars and Tamaran out there that are very similar to the ones we see on Earth-1, so I may be wrong! We do know that despite its location Earth-2 as we see it now is actually Telos' world as seen in Convergence, sent into the Earth-2 universe to be home to the Apokolips War Survivors. Alan Scott and his Power Ring have nothing at all to do with Green Lantern rings as we know then, so continuity slip that will never be followed up on or a hint at something to come we shall just have to wait and see.

As with so many dangling loose ends and abandoned plots in this series I am not holding my breath.

So he was not empowered up by magical energies, and affected by wood then?

I don't know. My point here is purely that in Earth-2 there has never been any suggestion at all that there are Oan Guardians, and I imagine if there are they would be quite different to the standard Earth-1 versions in the same way that Alan Scott's Green Lantern is different.
Alan's Power Ring is something we saw him create himself after being inmbued with the Green power by the Earth's spirit, there is absolutely no connection to the Guardians or Green Lantern Corps beyond coincidence. It may be that Dan Abnett has an idea that will make sense of the Ultra Humanite's comment, but as I say this is like other dangling plots and abandoned ideas in the book over the last three years...

Super dumb theory. Maybe there is the potential for multicolored corps in the Earth-2 universe. But instead of tapping into the emotional spectrum they tap into the Green, the Red, the Blue, the White, the Black etc. Like maybe earth-2 Oans are tapping into the green and they're behind Alan getting the power and through some subconscious suggestion he created a ring for the power.
