OK, I enjoyed this issue (and the final stretch of this series, Abnett really took a lemon and made a 3 course meal) I appreciate Dick's sacrifice, loved Alan's final confrontation with the Ultra Humanite which played out as it should. But the final page: "Next: Life After Death"
Next where? When? Is there a one shot? To be continued in JSA #1? E2: JSA? These heroes now have this new world, Batman is dead AGAIN. Is there any info?
EDIT:OK, guess it's all a mistype? DC lists this as Final Issue but THEN has an issue 22 which it ALSO lists as Final Issue. Wonder if there will be an issue 23 Final Issue, too?

I had thought #21 was the final issue as well. This book is like a frisky zombie that refuses to die.

Confusing I agree, I didn't enjoy this issue and that might be because of the last minute change of plans. I can see why the need for a Next Issue became necessary, at least with the Ultra-Humanite war cut short next issue can be devoted to taking stock, tying up loose ends, and giving this unfairly treated book a last high and hopefully finally naming them worthy to be named The Justice Society after six years of damaging avoidance. They deserve that much. And I shall be further disappointed in DC if this simple deserved honour doesn't come to pass for the teams final goodbye.

Would they be cleaning them out in order to have JS come back into DC now?

Oh, without a doubt. It may be that the reason this current 'Society' series even went a head was simply to plug the gap in time until DC were ready to get underway with the Rebirth JSA. And as I have said before Dan Abnett deserves full credit for his remarkable efforts in taking the burnt out dead end that the series had become and revitalising it, even if that regeneration of the world of Earth-2 came too late in time to save it at least the series ends on something of a high and is still out there somewhere in the DC multiverse ready for a future writer to return to... Abnett has granted the series a potential lease on life these last three issues that simply would not have been feasable if the book left off on the dead end of Telos' empty world and its exhausted landscape.

Sounds like in the end Earth-2 has a different meaning for the book.

I agree, the meaning of the "Earth-2" titling did gain different meaning for Telos' world as it literally was an Earth-2!
I found similarities between this new paradigm and that of obscure 1994 television series of the same name, both similar in premises -
