Oh, yeah, there's a DC book in this lot this time around. Heh. >:-D *rhe*

Anyway....

HEROES FOR HIRE #8: This book continues to please me, as usual. Somehow, the writers pull off a mixture of genuinely funny stuff, tons of action and total seriousness, all at the same time. And this issue was no exception. After being blasted through the chest by the Doombot, Orka died in this issue, but not before revealing that he had feelings for Misty. Then, Shang Chi went totally bug nuts and took out every one of the Headmen all by himself, even busting up his hands in the process. This impressed Tarantula when she found out about it, and now something is brewing between the two, although I was kind of hoping something would brew between the Tarantula and the Black Cat! 8\-\) Oddly enough, we never found out who sent the Grim Reaper and Man Ape to blow up the Statue of Liberty and why. The trail led to Latveria, but it's too obvious to be Dr. Doom. Perhaps Lucia von Bardas is back, or perhaps it's the mysterious Veil. We will see. In any case, I like ongoing "mystery mastermind" style plots, like the ones in the old days (Mr. Kline, Master Planner, others), so I look forward to seeing more of this plot. Al Rio's artwork was fabulous as usual. Too bad he's not sticking around.

DAREDEVIL #95: I dropped this title for a while during my "off-time", but I've decided to pick it up again starting with this issue, which featured an interesting mystery involving the Gladiator. Ah, an old bad guy returns, this time under the pen of a fabulous writer. I look forward to seeing what happens next. I also like seeing Becky Blake again, too, this time as a lawyer. I have the issues in which she first appeared, so she's a welcome sight.

GREEN LANTERN #18: Since I love Star Sapphire, I had to pick this one up, and I totally enjoyed it. Too bad Ivan Reis didn't draw the inside of the book, although I thought Alcuna was fine. In any case, as far as I know, this is Star Sapphire's first appearance since INFINITE CRISIS, so it's almost like starting from scratch....and yet not. Everyone's complaining about her new costume, but I like it well enough. And the switcheroo at the end, with the Sapphire taking possession of Hal's current girlie was an interesting twist. Great work by one of my favorite writers, Geoff Johns!

And that's all she wrote! Have a nice day, and thanks for reading! \:\-\)
