Subject: Should Marvel do a Star Wars/Marvel Cross-Over book? Posted Wed Dec 27, 2017 at 11:05:21 pm EST (Viewed 203 times) |

I know it sounds nuts but there are some stories I would like to read. I wouldn't have Star Wars come to Marvel Earth. I would only have Marvel heroes get somehow transported to the Star Wars galaxy for a brief time. Specifically Spider-Man. That's the thing about Spider-Man. He fits into any scenario. Because his whole schtick is to be a misfit! He can be a misfit in Manhattan, in the Dark Dimension, in Asgard - or on Tatooine. That's why Marvel Team-Up was one of the greatest comics of all time. Wouldn't you like to see Spider-Man fighting Darth Vader alongside Luke Skywalker and Han Solo?

1. Generally, I'm against any and all inter-company/universe crossovers. I'm not even a fan of when Marvel does it with DC or Image. And I'm still not sold on HasbroVerse. IMO, GIJoe and MASK still don't fit with Transformers, Micronauts and ROM (I'd actually be more accepting of Jem & the Holograms with GIJoe-- Holograms vs Cold Slither? Sign me up!). I'm skeptical Transformers fit with Micronauts or ROM. Just because Disney owns both doesn't mean anything. It's still Marvel and LucasFilm. 2. Even Yoda and Skywalker are just ants compared to typical Marvel fare. The universes are just too different. City of Heroes is BACK!

I would have Deadpool be the one to go to the Star Wars galaxy. He's genre savvy and can make the jokes that need to be made. (for someone who is supposed to be funny Peter's jokes are always awful) And Wade might like working for the empire if they provide dental. Quote: Wouldn't you like to see Spider-Man fighting Darth Vader alongside Luke Skywalker and Han Solo? No. Spider-Man is always the guy they put forward for these crossovers. Make it someone else. Like Thor. What the hell would Star Wars characters make of Thor? Lame ass telekinesis ain't gonna cut it against the god of Thunder. ![]()

But come on...they're supposed to be fun. I just sort of see them as occurring in their own separate universe for that single story. Otherwise I imagine Daredevil would be upset Batman doesn't call more often. Quote: 2. Even Yoda and Skywalker are just ants compared to typical Marvel fare. I've just never seen them as fun. What makes these separate universes fun for me is that they're separate. No, I don't want salsa on my Cap'n Crunch. City of Heroes is BACK!

He belongs nowhere so he belongs everywhere! WW2 with Sgt. Fury (weirdly some white guy). 30th century with the Legion of Super-Heroes! Helping Bugs Bunny antagonize Elmer Fudd! 1950s Adventure of Superman. "Spider-Man? What next, Clark? Batman?" Star Trek:"Cap'n! I dunno how to say this - but he's stickin' to the walls and we can't get him down. An' the dadblasted devil won't shut up!" Adam-12 the cop show. "Ugh, this is 1-Adam-12 with a nutcase in our backseat, says he's Ant-Man or somethin'. Unarmed except for weird bracelets. Seems harmless but agitated. Said somethin' about Mary Jane. Might be code for Marijuana." He's the king of team-ups. He needs to meet Chewbacca.

I've been waiting to read it once the final issue is out. I'm going to be really cruel and try to convince you to read Groo vs. Conan. That may be one of the worst things I ever read. ![]()

Once things reach a certain point of silly, they become immune to this rule. I also don't mind: - Archie/Punisher or Predator (odd because I'm not an Archie fan) - Sonic/Spawn (also odd-- not a Sonic fan) - Spidey/Ren & Stimpy - Superman or Batman/Jerry Lewis - Superman/Quik Bunny - Gozilla vs Chas Barkley - Scooby Doo/Anybody - Maybe Marvel/Guiding Light City of Heroes is BACK!

Quote: We'll learn that the Living Tribunal also doubles as an omniversal travel agent.Yes! There is no character Spidey can't entertainingly team up with! Conan? Yes! Optimus Prime? Yes! The Lone Ranger? Yes! Witchblade? Yes! Hellboy? Yes! Vampirella? Yes! He belongs everywhere because he belongs nowhere! It's genius! Genius! Spidey could absorb the entire medium into himself and become omnipresent. He should do that. It would be cool. You know it's true.

Spidey would have the hots for Cheryl Blossom. Quote: - Sonic/Spawn (also odd-- not a Sonic fan) - Spidey/Ren & Stimpy Yes! Although Deadpool might be better because Deadpool could kill them at the end. Deadpool is Spidey who kills. Spidey is Deadpool who doesn't kill. This is very important to understand. Any Deadpool team-up is really a Spidey team-up with killing. Quote: - Superman or Batman/Jerry Lewis - Superman/Quik Bunny - Gozilla vs Chas Barkley - Scooby Doo/Anybody - Maybe Marvel/Guiding Light
