Brad Pitt as Thor - Tom Cruise as Iron Man - Eddie Murphy as either War Machine or the Falcon - I can see the first two but not the third. I think Eddie Murphy would have wanted (and Marvel would have wanted him) to play a villain. An actor can be more over the top as a villain.

Will Smith might have made a good War Machine or Falcon. But even he, I think, would make a better villain. I think I generally just want comedians to be villains.

Ralph Fiennes might have made a good Bruce Banner, although the shape of his head is not as well suited to the CGI Hulk as Mark Ruffalo's head shape is. Same comment for Denzel Washington. Mark Ruffalo just has that perfectly shaped head.

The thought of Tom Cruise as Iron Man makes me sick.

Eddie Murphy in a serious role? Never.

For Falcon, I'd go far afield and say Mekhi Phifer.

I don't see Will Smith as a villain. Especially back then, all of his roles are light-hearted fun or inspirational. Even today, I don't think he plays dark very well.

I also find it impossible to see any villains as remotely funny.

... Christopher Daniel Barnes, also known as Greg Brady from the Brady Bunch movies.

He looks the part, or looked it any way, and voiced him in the 90s cartoon.

... Silver Surfer or Dr. Strange.

Yes, it is a terrible fit for both. BUT, if the MCU were created around the same time as Batman and Robin, wouldn't you expect bad choices?

In the 90's I thought the kid that played Xander on Buffy would have made a great Peter Parker. Brendon Somebody? \(\?\)

I would go with this Buffy actor instead. (See pic.)

Seth Green kind of annoys me.

Ed Furlong would have made a great Spidey, I think. Too bad we never got that.

Second choice: James Franco.
