I'd love to see a Wrecking Crew limited series. I know, they are the "go to" for generic villain team, but I think there's actually some untapped potential there.

We know who the Wrecker is. He's been a solo act, he's the mouthpiece and leader of the group. We've got a decent feel for Thunderball. He's the smart one. I liked seeing him apart from the Crew in Amazing Spider-Man back in the 90s. He had some good insight into hero & villain teams. We have even seen some power struggles between the two.

I know there's a new Bulldozer, but I haven't seen much of her. Piledriver is about as close to a blank slate as you can get for a character with as many appearances as he has.

What makes the team work? Why do they stick together? Aside from some friction between Wrecker & Thunderball, they all seem to get along. Is that true?

Could characters even of their limited intellect develop some unique combat strategies? Could their abilities manifest in slightly different ways?

Throw in Piledriver's kid, Excavator, and there's a lot to explore, I think!

So much potential there. Want to team up and write it?

I'm glad I'm not the only one to see potential!

Who would you set up as antagonist? Loki or Karnilla? Someone/thing else?

I could see it going one of two ways. Either the team breaks up early in the series, and we watch them grow as individuals before coming back together in for the final conflict, OR we see them butt up against each other and grow in different ways throughout the ongoing conflict, and go their separate ways after the final conflict.

I'm not a writer by any stretch, but I do love to bounce around ideas...

My idea for how to do this would be to put them into a new city where they have been convinced to be that city's super-team. Like the Thunderbolts, they decide to go straight.

So, at first we'd have some fun seeing them handle some petty criminals here and there, usually causing too much damage each time. Of course, the Wrecker would have a meeting where he chews them out and tells them they have to get their **** together and stop messing up, which would be a funny scene in itself. Then there is an attack on the city that they respond to and find themselves confronted with one of Marvel's Big-Bads, like Ultron or Blastaar or Mangog, someone way out of their league, and they get trashed.

Then, of course, they have to regroup. One of them quits and runs off. The rest of them get together and confront the Big Bad again, and they're almost losing, but the runaway comes back, they start to gain ground, the dumbest one of them figures out the Big Bad's weakness, they beat him...

Then in the aftermath there is so much damage that they think they are fired for sure and going to be returned to the Raft, but the people of the city applaud them are are really appreciative. They figure they'll stick with the hero gig.

Over the next few issues there can be flashbacks where we find out each member's background as the new battles and situations happen.

Once all of these back stories are established, the Absorbing Man and Titania will join the group. Then their next adversary will be Mr. Hyde as a Big Bad, with some sort of added power level.

After Hyde, the next adversary should be another big bad, like Mephisto or Nefaria (powered up).

The cool thing about a book like this is that any and all Marvel villains are eligible to appear. All our favorites.
