With all this talk and posting of music videos, it can't be denied that one guy who definitely took advantage of the new medium was Petty. This article points out his biggest video hits.

I really love Tom Petty. I play his greatest hits in my car all the time. Or I play Full Moon Fever which is one the greatest rock and roll albums.

I never got into him too much. Maybe it was his voice. But to be honest, I never listened to any of his albums. I did love his video for "Don't come Around Here No More".

Challenge accepted.

I'm gonna have to put some of his stuff on Music Fun so you hear more of it.

I've heard everything they play on the radio, but never a full album. Sometimes that can make a difference for me.

You should listen to Full Moon Fever.

If you like the Traveling Wilburys this album was like the proto-Wilburys album

Tom Petty was one of the best rock acts in the '80's (along with John Mellencamp, Pat Benatar, Heart, and others).

I just wish this stuff had been posted earlier. MY favorite Petty schtuff came out in '82 and '83. You can BET I'll have plenty of his schtuff later, though! ;\)

besides being a huge fan, out of all the rockers to come out of the 70s Petty easily had the best videos. Better than a lot of 80s musicians we today associate with early MTV.

A local thrift store that sometimes has a great collection of CDs provided me with my first Tom Petty CDs: Damn the Torpedos and Greatest Hits.

In addition, I picked up a NIna Simone cd, a tribute to Waylon Jennings, and Bruce Springsteen's The Rising.

All for $3! Last year I bought almost 100 CDs from them.

Awesome Shane, I think you're really going to like those Tom Petty CDs.

And you can't beat those prices!
