Is this the first evidence that Suzie will be able to hold her own against Calvin?

I'm really impressed with Watterson's skill as a storytelling cartoonist with these early Calvins. The obvious joke would have been to have Calvin hit Suzie with his first snowball but having him miss just set up the following panels so well. A small touch, but I think it worked very well.

I think it is. She hasn't exactly been a milquetoast up till now but this is the first time I recall her really putting him in his place.
