I LOVED that book, John. It was the first independent comic I got (followed by Nexus and Badger and Grimjack...), and I still miss it. The High Lord was a GREAT enemy. \:\)

Your banner rocks, too! \:\)

And a HUGE thank you for posting my banners this weekend! My 'puter's tryin' to give me all kinds'a trouble dis weekend. ;\)

I would so enjoy that if it were done right.

Also the characters were Starlin's and were clearly based on certain marvel characters but still it was a good series where actions had consequences and the happy ending wasn't always there.

The four icons. Nexus still pops up here and there. I wonder how many of us remember Badger and Grimjack? I was a Grimjack fan.

Wouldn't it be cool if the four icons could return in a single comic line, integrated into one universe?

I loved Dreadstar too, and I'm looking forward to the TV show. 'Breed was another great Starlin 90's series.
Nexus remains my favorite comic. Baron and Rude are preparing new stories to be released as an online comic strip, in the vein of Prince Valiant. I'm also very eager to see that (of course).
Badger was a ton of fun! Good stories and lots of great artists. It also had a couple of my favorite lines from any comic: "All my dainty underthings are made of Kevlar" and "I'll put my faith in Buddah (pulling out a machine gun) BUDDA-BUDDA-BUDDA-BUDDA".
Grimjack was another winner, as was Scout. The 80s were a great time for independents. Tim Truman's work on Grateful Dead comics were also some of my favorites.

I wonder if they will do the Metamorphosis Odyssey part of the story when Dreadstar was teamed with Aknaton or if they will skip ahead to when he arrived in the Empirical Galaxy and just refer to Aknaton and his war in flashback?

I am a massive Dreadstar fan, I thought it was the perfect combination of magical high fantasy and space opera.
