I'm just starting to get into the character. I've read the Pacific and Image runs, the Eclipse special and most of the Darkhorse miniseries. I haven't started on the 120 issue Marvel run yet but I'm getting there.

I liked what I've read of it. "MAD Magazine does Conan" is how I think of it. As a kid I loved both of those so Groo was A-OK with me.

I confess I never did read an issue. I remember the ads running in the Marvel books all the time. I think I saw a bunch of Sergio's artwork in MAD and liked it, but never picked up a Groo. Someday.

I have and love all the Groo comics that have ever been released. That includes the new ones which some find heavy handed on the social and political agenda. Not a statement anyone would expect from a Groo comic.:)
