I get the feeling that both Peter and Norah will get in over their heads in their respective missions against Osborn and may have to save each other's butts. Perhaps as Norah saves Spidey, she mighe accidentally learn his secret identity.

That would be a great way to kill the tension between them so early in the game. =\

Out of all the recent additions to the cast Norah Winters may just be the strongest. Hope we get to see much more of her, and that the other writers handle her the same way Joe Kelly does.

The tension would still be there because Peter does not know what to make of Norah and her knowing his secret would make Peter feel even more uneasy about Norah. Seeing that Norah is trying to advance her career as a reporter very aggressively, Peter may fear that Norah may expose his secret to achieve her goals.

Assuming that Norah does not get overshadowed by MJ when she returns in a few issues.

It would not be a good idea to do that any time soon. She hasn't been around long enough for such a reveal to have its full impact. And there's just so much that can be done with the current set-up that it would be a waste to throw it all away for a short-term gain.

Why would she? They're completely different kinds of characters that can co-exist without any redundancy. Now if they both knew Spider-Man's secret ID, that would be a redundancy.

#1 OK, where are people getting the idea that someone will learn Spidey's ID during American Son? Was it in an interview somewhere?

#2 I don't know where the idea of Norah came from or who came up with her but in her short few appearances, she has become the character with the greatest potential to come out of a Spidey book since Eddie Brock/Venom. Seriously. What a breath of fresh air. She has seen only a fraction of panels compared to even newbies as Carlie and Lily/Menace and still she has captured my attention with every word. Joe Kelly has created a monster of Mary Jane proportions. She brings the wildcard, "what's she gonna do/say next" quality of 60's Mary Jane Watson to the modern, decensitised, new millenium readership that's been missing in this title since forever. Bravo. If Marvel is capable of sustaining such a character, even in sans-Joe Kelly issues, watch out. Only 3 issues and she's more interesting then any character introduced in a Spidey book since at least, Ben Reilly, at worst Venom. Keep up the good work. Honestly, Peter Parker could find out he's the product of Alien/Osborn decent and right now, I would still read to find out more about Norah.

Am I weird? Is it just me?

Not just you at all. Norah is the first member of the new supporting cast I care at all about.

Does anyone think Peter and Norah will hook up before MJ returns?
