Things are proceeding very well if a bit slowly on the MC2 project we are now nearly halfway through voice casting for the pilot. Recently I've been debating making a change to the MC2 animation project and I'm asking around to get people's opinions.

Structurally The End of Spider-Man mini-series was kind of going to be like the X-Files revival with six episodes the first and last being "mythology" episodes important to the overall narrative with four "monster of the week" episodes in the middle that are more light and fun. But I'm considering making a big change the pilot covers the kidnapped baby subplot and it's resolution and the finale taking place when Mayday was two years old covering Spider-Man's final battle with The Green Goblin There's a good ammount of time between them and that's explored in four episodes based on Tom Defalco's short lived Mr. and Mrs. Spider-Man series of back up features.

The pilot and finale are going very well together but despite the finale taking place over a year after the pilot ends and episodes 2-5 taking place between them episodes 1 and 6 really feel like two halves of the same story more importantly I'm doing this mini-series partly to provide the fanbase animated stories of Peter as a father stories we were denied in the comics for no good reason since I myself was an infant and four episodes shoehorned into the middle of a mini-series seems pretty meager especially if there's a good window of time to explore that status quo.

So what I'm considering is having The End of Spider-Man be a two part event instead of a mini-series and when the extended cuts of the pilot and finale are finished merging them into a 50-60 minute movie. This provides me the freedom to have Mr. and Mrs. Spider-Man be it's own mini-series which would enable me to produce additional episodes beyond the four based on DeFalco's back up features allowing viewers a longer and more satisfying look into the status quo of Spider-Man as a parent before MC2 Peter lost his leg.

This project is for fans of Spider-Girl and the Spider-Marriage so which approach do you think I should take?
